Bad Clinic Experiences?

I'm changing clinics. I have had nothing but bad experiences with this clinic I was referred to. The doctor was cold and condescending. Her bedside manner was lacking. She canceled my last appointment. I have only had one appointment, and at 9 weeks haven't been able to hear a heartbeat or see an ultrasound. I am just going off faith alone, hoping everything is ok with my baby. A little reassurrance goes a long way. People can be so rude. This new clinic will have midwives (I couldn't have one at the other clinic). Anyone else switch clinics? It's terrible feeling like your only a number and not a person. It's been a stressful and emotional couple of weeks. Been so angry and frustrated.

I'll be switching once I have my NT scan. Good for you for going with your gut!

  • Good for you Momma, you need to be comfortable with your care provider. I switched because my OB's practice doesn't do VBACs. When switching I consulted with two different OBs who do VBACs and today decided on my new practice. It feels good to have a new "home". My practice also has certified nurse midwives, I'm excited.

  • Glad you're switching early since you had a bad experience! A lot of places don't do a first trimester ultrasound and the Doppler may not pick anything up at 9 weeks which can contribute to anxiety instead of helping. Good luck

I'm stoked for my new clinic :) My sister told me her midwife made all the difference for her. Just waiting for medical records to fax over. I should have done more research about the different clinics, but I guess it's ok now. Have to learn from trial and error sometimes. This new clinic does early ultrasounds, and there is a bigger staff.
