3rd Trimester

Lazy baby

I'm 28+5 and I either have a really lazy baby or something might be wrong? My little man can go for an hour or two having a kick and a punch, but then he goes quiet for like 6 hours? Does anyone else's little one do this? Or am I just being a worrier?

Not a Doctor, so definitely ask at your next appointment.

That being said, I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel my baby move for a long long time (maybe into third trimester, don't remember). I know at just shy of six months I couldn't feel him move, but that was when if he moved and was putting pressure on a new spot, I could feel the pressure - but not him moving there. The reason I know how far along I was then, was because it started happening on our trip to nyc. I can't recall how long after that until I felt him move. My placenta was in the front, so I couldn't feel baby beneath it until he got much stronger. Even then, I didn't feel him that much. I'm was never able to see him move through my stomach either.

ETA. He definitely wasn't lazy. I had three U/Ss and on the screen I could see him move like crazy all the time.

  • My boy sleeps for hours in the day, feel him morning and evening mainly, has improved now I'm over 30 weeks, whenever I had woken in the night for a toilet run or in need of heartburn tablets I felt him going mad though, going to have sleepless nights on my hands I think! Every baby is different, aslong as you get to know his pattern and aslong as you are feeling kicks don't panic, if his pattern changes then contact your midwife xx
