No heparin but I take baby aspirin daily. Unfortunately if you hit something it's going to bruise. Immediate icing may help it be lessened somewhat but it's going to happen.
I have 2 friends that did heparin and I do insulin, apparently its the chemicals that can cause it. They both always had horrible bruising the entire time.
Thanks I had to take heparin on my last pregnancy too (9 years ago) and I just forgot how much it bruised! I'll soon run out of non bruised space to to administer it.
Took lovenox for my 1st pregnancy (doc says I don't need to start till 2nd trimester for this one). I couldn't bear to put a shot in my stomach so I put it in the top side of my thighs. They are still bruised to this day from my April14 baby...
Also on lovenox here. I do my injections on the inside of my thighs, switching spots and thighs daily. I also have found a few areas more prone to bruise, so I stay away from those spots.
I also ice before each injection, which seems to help with bruising. If I can tell it's going to bruise I can normally see it right away, so I ice it after the shot as well.
