You guys- I found this site yesterday when I was lurking on another bump month board. It's an online second-hand clothing site. I ended up ordering about 6 things yesterday and paid just over $50, including shipping. Some of the items I chose are even new with tags. They have a 40% off your first purchase deal going on now. I can't wait for my new (to me) stuff to come in!

  • When do most people start wearing maternity clothes? I'd imagine we wouldn't need until at least October, right? I'm 8 weeks and despite feeling like a cow, everything still fits the same.

With my first pregnancy I didn't show until 6 months - since this is my 2nd, I'm still wearing my regular jeans but they are tight so some days I will wear maternity jeans/capris for the sake of comfort. I haven't really been wearing maternity tops yet though.

If everything fits, you don't have to wear them. I didn't start until 12-16 weeks last time (but I have a very short torso and there is nowhere for anything to go). This time, my pants already don't fit despite no weigh gain. Just do what feels right to you.

  • @inomniaparatus it totally depends.  i would think October might be wishful thinking but definitely could happen.  I would say you're going to need pants/bella band before you're going to need new shirts.

I try to stay minimal with my maternity clothes.  I buy plain colored maternity t-shirt/tank tops and wear them with a cardigan or some kind of layering piece that i already own.  that's how i dress most of the time anyway so why not while i'm pregnant as well.  I don't think i'm going to need to buy much this time, but i definitely want to buy a nice pair of jeans.  i've gotten cheap jeans from Target/Motherhood Maternity and they don't last long IMO.  I also LOVE full panel.  totally the way to go.

  • I can't wait to go shopping for maternity clothes! My mom mentioned taking me shopping soon. I saw JCrew has a maternity line but I'm wondering if you can buy it in stores. Also has anyone bought from the Rosie Pope line? I saw a few things there I liked but I'm not looooving anything I've seen online so far.

I started wearing maternity pants with my twins at 10 weeks because it was so much more comfortable than my regular pants unbuttoned. I've already starting wearing maternity shirts this time around only because all my regular shirts are fairly tight and I don't want my belly to be that obvious yet! I can't wait to get all of my maternity clothes out!

  • LEGGINGS! GET SOME LEGGINGS!! Leggings provide SO much support to your legs, back and belly! Get all colors and NINE pair of black haha. (can you tell I loved leggings last pregnancy?)

I am looking forward to being mostly pregnant in the fall/winter. Old Navy has some great pieces and inexpensive jeans.
  • Most of my stuff from my last pregnancy came from old navy. I do have one maxi dress from Ann Taylor loft, which I LOVE. I will probably try to just wear non maternity maxi dresses trough the summer (most are stretchy and with an empire waist anyway). Also stitch fix does maternity boxes now, so I'm definitely going to order a stitch fix box for maternity clothes.
Have you already switched over to maternity boxes? I tried to, but couldn't find where to put that preference.

  • I have a long torso and I'm showing thanks to this being baby #2. I went to Motherhood Maternity and got 2 tops for $26 total. Also they give you a ton of coupons and deals. I think it was worth it. It's cheaper than what it was when I was pregnant with my first.

I am thinkin this is going to be my plan as well!!! Leggings, a few basic maternity shirts, a few of those bodycon mini dresses in a size bigger (to wear like a shirt) and accessorize with scarves/sweaters/vest lol

It really depends on the person. I was able to wear a lot of my work pants all the way through my pregnancy, just with a bella band. I wore maternity shirts though. With my first I think I started around 5 or 6 months, but with my second it was sooner.

  • I ended up buying a number of clothing from buy and sell pages on Facebook. Really cheap too!
  • My son was born in September, so I have no winter maternity clothes. I'm planning on the hair tie and bella band trick for as long as I can and then wear leggings the rest of the time.

I'm also hoping not to fall on my ass because of the ice, but I'm betting it will happen at least once.

  • I'm promised myself I would actually embrace my bump and not hide it this time!

I just wore whatever and didn't really wear anything cute to show off my bump- in going to be pregnant during the same times so I'll still wear some of the non maternity clothes but I want to get cute stuff too.

There are such cute things at stores that aren't maternity only stores like old navy and I even like a bunch of target things
