We had a 33 week US yesterday and baby's head is measuring at 37 weeks, but the rest of baby is right on track at 33 weeks. Anybody have this happen? Did the head stop growing and body catch up? Scared to death I'm gonna be pushing out a head the size of a 3 month old lol (hubby has an abnormally large head so I guess I've got him to thank)

Re: big head!

  • My son's head has always measured big. When you are in the moment I don't think it matters that much....pushing a baby out isn't the most enjoyable regardless ;)

  • My daughters head has always been off the charts!!! She's perfectly healthy and smart as a whip. Took 2.5 hours to push her out though sooooo good luck w that ;)

  • My little guys head is measuring a little ahead as well and it seriously looks like a big perfect circle. Big giant head just like his father! Ouchie.....

Always hold on to hope ❤
  • We find out in a few weeks. My husband's head was off the charts as a baby sooooooo I'm VERY interested in learning this baby's measurements.
  • I don't remember them telling me with DS where his head measured in utero. However, after 15 hours of labor he just wasn't making the final drop, and after the C-section he had the biggest cone head you would ever see. Seriously, it had 3 parts like a snowman, and just kept extending upward. My dad called him Marge Simpson. It took a few months for it to go away and join the rest of his scull, but when it did, his head was off the charts in measurement. I hope you have better luck birthing that than I did, but he is super smart, so maybe that's something?!?!
  • I'm still LOLing about your post @amylianne ... Poor kid ;)

My DD's head measured large in comparison to her body all the way along. However, even though her head at birth was literally only the size of a tennis ball, pushing that out was the worst pain I've ever felt! I'm a pretty quiet person but I swear the entire hospital knew about that...

She looks (and has always looked) perfectly in proportion despite apparently being big headed in utero :)
  • My sons head is measuring ahead also
