Sister for Ethan & Bryce

Need help naming our little girl who will be a sister to Ethan Chase and Bryce William.

We love the name Emma, but it seems so overused. We don't want her to have to go by Emma C. as she grows up because there are so many others in her classes. We could handle Emma as a first name if her middle name helped distinguish her and allowed her the opportunity to choose her middle name/nickname. (We like Emerson as an alternative but can't use it because it is a very close friend's little girl's name.)

We also have Irish heritage we would like to pay tribute to, but many of those names have a 'K' sound as does our last name.

Any help with first and middle names is appreciated!

I love Emma doesn't matter if it's popular if you really like it, it's a classic a beautiful name. Also is it popular where you live? Or just on a national level?
  • Maeve is a nice Irish name that has been becoming more common, but you have two very common American names for boys that I think it would be odd to bring in a different female name.

Fiona? It's more recognizable but still not a top 10 name.

  • I will always love Emma no matter how popular it is. And honestly, I'm really happy Emerson is off the table because that name is TERRIBLE. I'd assume you'd have 3 boys, because Emerson literally means Son of Emery.

Anyway, feminine names that have a nod to your Irish heritage and aren't too far removed from Ethan and Bryce.

Ry-anne, I guess it's the feminine form of Ryan.

Ry-anne, I guess it's the feminine form of Ryan.
BTN has it as a rare feminine variant of Ryan. Pronounced differently. rie-AN vers RIE-en.
  • I think that if you love Emma, you should use it. You could always give her a middle name that pairs well enough to use together when she is in school (if there is another Emma in her class). Like Emma Kate.

You really never know how it is going to go when it comes to school. She could be in a school where there is only one other Emma, and she is two grades ahead of your Emma. My cousin graduated last week, and I was surprised that even though she has pretty common name (and her high school graduating class was almost 700 students), she was the only one with that first name.
