Digestion help?

In the morning I'm great.  I have my 1 cup of coffee for the day and have a large BM (sorry for TMI).  As the day goes on, it feels like everything I eat or drink just stays in my upper stomach/chest area, so I constantly feel hungry, but can't really eat much b/c anything I've already had feels stuck. By the end of the day, I'm completely miserable and feel like a stomach full of rocks until the next morning.  Has anyone experienced this?  I drink TONS of water - around 125oz every day.    TIA!

Re: Digestion help?

  • I am used to constipation of several days sometimes weeks, before and now during pregnancy. It is very normal.

If water isn't enough, go walking. Take stool softeners, mix benefiber with your yogurt, make sure that yogurt is activia, try stretching or yoga which will at least help you expel some gas.

Also, normally this post would have been met with asking you why you haven't lurked. But I'm very sympathetic to this issue. If you had bothered to use the search function or read a page or two, you would see its normal and we've all been sharing ways to combat it.

  • I actually did "bother" to search and I didn't see anything that matched exactly what I'm dealing with, but thanks for your response...I think.
  • I don't have advice, just sympathy! I also feel like some days everything I eat just sits and stays I'm my stomach and never moves. It makes me super bloated. And I'm not even having a constipation issue or anything. When MS gets bad and I get sick (not to be gross but.. ) it's like a TON of food getting expelled even if I haven't eaten for hrs or have eaten very little.... I think half the reason I get sick sometimes is because it has to go somewhere!!!

I'm hoping this goes away along with the 1st trimester!

I eat kimchi almost everyday and it has really helped!

I'm really glad that you read all of the helpful information I tried to share and instead assumed a tone that wasn't there in my response. Not everyone is out to get you, lady.
  • I don't think anyone is out to get me.  I appreciated most of your response, but surely you can agree that "If you had bothered..." comes off a little rude.  You are assuming I didn't look around, but I did.   The same response could have been phrased in a different way, such as "there are threads on this already that you can check out".
  • Thank you!  I hope it goes away for both of us soon :-)
  • I get that feeling, too. It's like throughout the day I feel like there's a giant bubble in my upper stomach that keeps expanding, so even though I'm hungry it's hard to eat much of anything. By the end of the day I'm starving and feel nauseous from being so hungry, yet my stomach feels like it's about to explode. I hate it. It sucks. I hope you feel better soon!
