So confused...please chart stalk!!

Hey all,

So this is my third cycle on progesterone (starting the day after ovulation) and usually my temp jumps up really high and stay high the whole time of my luteal phase. However, this cycle has been super funky. The first half, my temps jumped up and down. And now even with progesterone, they aren't going up too high (except for on CD23). FF is still showing that I ovulated but I'm wondering if I really didn't ovulate? But I'm so confused because my first cycle of taking progesterone, I didn't ovulate (confirmed by blood test) but my temps were still super high (due to the drug). So shouldn't the progesterone be pushing my temps up?

This is also the first cycle using the Mabis thermometer, so could it just be using a new thermometer?

Feel free to offer opinions or take wild guesses....

I wish I knew! Looks good to me, could be just one freak temp. And also as long as it's above the coverline should be okay...
I wish I had gotten a spike like that.

Which day did you start progesterone? Day 21?

I don't actually think that's too bad. As long as you stay above cover line, you're good!

I started the progesterone the evening of day 21. So the day 21 temp was before progesterone....

Yeah, I guess you're right. It's just that I've had such high temps the past two cycles while on progesterone, so this cycle seems so strange. But the temps aren't dropping, so that's a good sign...

I think it looks pretty good @jilligan14! My temp pattern changes every cycle.

@emsmama15 - thanks for the input. It's reassuring to know that every cycle can be different (which was the case before I started progesterone). I just can't shake this feeling that I didn't really ovulate and all the O signs was just my PCOS playing tricks on me again. I know for a fact that I don't O every cycle so I should just accept that this can be a possibility but I'm always hoping this time is for real!

Yeah, your cycles are wonky.  The time you didn't ovulate most recently - when you weren't sure, but started your progesterone anyway - did FF give you an O day that time?  Looking at your chart, it seems pretty apparent you have a shift, but maybe you didn't ovulate.  I think you need to give it a couple more temps to see what happens next.  Good luck @jilligan14!

@emsmama15 - I'm not sure how to share past cycles on here. Can you just see this cycle's chart or my last cycle's chart as well? I've clicked "share" for my first cycle on progesterone but not sure if it will work but I'll post it anyway:

 I did not actually ovulate that first cycle (confirmed by blood test). FF did dotted crosshairs since I entered in that I was taking progesterone and I guess that influences the results. There was still a significant temp shift, even though I didn't actually ovulate.

My second cycle taking progesterone was the cycle I had my super ovulation (high progesterone levels at 7dpo) and the temps were also high. So I just figured they'd always be high while I was on progesterone. So that's why I'm so stumped this time. I'm thinking that either the progesterone isn't working this time or that it's a weak ovulation.

I know I'm over-analyzing but this is the first cycle in awhile where I don't get to have the progesterone blood test so I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure out if I really did O or not. Only time will tell...

I can see why you're obsessing.  If my chart looked like that and I knew I hadn't ovulated, I'd be analyzing the heck out of it too.  It looks so ovulatory.  I wish I could be more help so you didn't have to obsess so much.  But, since I'm not, I'll just say, obsess away!  I'll listen, offer worthless advice and platitudes and commiserate!  How about that!

PS I'm just so excited I got AF today so I can go in for my baseline and see if my cysts are gone.  We all have things to vent and obsess over, don't we?

@emsmama15 - oh, it looks like my third chart didn't show up on the link above. The one below my current chart was ovulatory, the anovulatory one didn't show up. Oh well. No worries about not offering more help, it just feels good to share my misery/obsessions/suffering with others instead of keeping it all to myself (I'm driving H crazy, by the way :-) So glad AF showed up and you can finally close out that cycle and move on to more fun times! Fingers crossed that the meds are just right this time and that everything goes smoothly!

Update: Today's temp jumped up to 98.26 so I guess this is just a bit of a rollercoaster cycle. I'm not sure how much room temp affects things because our air conditioning wasn't working last night and it was HOT. Either way, I'm just going to roll with it all and see what happens...

Duh!  I could have looked at the dates and figured that out.    Oops.  Not too on the ball today!

@jilligan14 my temp went up a little again today. Not a huge jump, but to 97.7, which is the highest temp I've had all month.
Btw, I'm sitting with my man waiting for Jurrasic World to start and all the people around me are annoying the crap out of me!!!
I'm hoping that's a good sign. :-?

@emsmama15 - I don't know how to post past charts but the anovulatory cycle still looked pretty ovulatory (with a clear temp shift). I think my body is just very good at playing tricks on me!!

@thistle8677 - your chart is looking really good!! I've been easily annoyed by other people too but I'm on progesterone so that's most likely the cause of it. Fingers crossed for you!!
