Help!!
I'm currently 23 weeks and my sciatic pain has gotten really bad! There are times when I'm walking and lift my right leg and it feels like an electric, white hot poker just stabbed the top my right hiney cheek!
Does anyone have any tips or tricks for helping relieve the pain?? It isn't constant, but when I have it, the pain brings tears to my eyes!
Thank you for the help!!

  • Me too.. Happens every other day. It's worse when I workout or standing, walking too long all day. Really sucks :(

Me too ... Ugh. Somehow the rest of my post got deleted! the TL;DR: Maybe acupressure or acupuncture could offer some relief? Cause I have yet to find a home remedy that does anything

I saw a physiotherapist which really helped. Basically your glutes stop working as you get bigger at the front so they can give you exercises to help stabilise your core.
  • I feel ya.....I stand all day at work...it got to the point where my doc took me outta work bc I was limping....mine went away as soon as I delivered my daughter....and now the same thing is happening with this pregnancy. ...hang in there only a couple more months! !
  • I find that walking with good arch support and stretching are the only things that help. I'm starting PT in a week for it since it bothered me before pregnancy as well. The stretch I like works great in the pool too! Put your ankle over your knee and bend over with a straight back. You will feel the nice stretch!
  • I have the same problem and my dr told me to lie down, bring my knees up as far as I can without being uncomfortable, and the hold onto your knees and rock from side to side slowly. It does help some but I haven't gotten full relief. Good luck!
  • Thank you for the help everyone!! I'm going to try the stretches!! Any relief is better than no relief at this point!
  • Best thing to do sounds crazy but it's what our personal trainer told me is to sit in a tennis ball it will hurt like heck at first. Put the tennis ball on the ground and lay on it with your tush in the side it hurts legs straight slowly move it around and adjust. It will break up the muscle pain.
