I'd be happy with either a boy or girl. Doesn't really matter to me as long as their healthy. We have custody of my 7 year old nephew since he was 1 so it would be nice to have a girl to even it out.
I can't wait to find out!! I know you can get the genetic blood testing done to see disorders, and you'll ultimately find out the gender: but when do you usually find out during ultrasound?
Re: When do we find out the gender?
Your doctor may be able to see then, depending on the baby's position, if it's a boy or a girl.
However, this appointment is an ANATOMY scan, not a SEX scan, so your doctor may send you out of the office without revealing the sex. They also won't wait around for your baby to be in the right position to determine the sex.
If the baby isn't in the right position but the doctor has already determined that the baby is healthy and developing properly they will probably send you away and you will have to get another ultrasound, sometimes out of your own pocket.
So I guess the answer is, it's different for everyone but probably between 18-22 weeks.
