Happy solstice, ladies! There is also that small matter of fathers day, but who cares about that?
Cranky because despite my efforts at inducing labor yesterday, I have no signs LO will come for the solstice. The day is still young, but every minute that passes is a minute wasted. Guess I'll see you Tuesday, kid.
Otherwise - tired, dreading gravity, I just woke up from what some people would consider a pretty boring dream but it involved my last job and thus was a for true nightmare, and my feet itch.
Wasn't DH supposed to be a Dad by now? I hate due dates. 5 days overdue and no sign of baby. At least, we know DS won't easily succumb to peer pressure. (Trying to find a bright side)
Symptoms? Stabby stabby stabby!! (And my dang phone keeps trying to autocorrect to standby)
40 weeks 3 days and I am feeling so conflicted. My induction is scheduled for the 27th and I don't even know if I can wait that long. I asked to schedule if far being I wanted to go into labor naturally but at this point I give up. I have zero energy the only comfortable position is laying down with my Prego pillow. Contractions will get going at night, go for an hour then stop. I'm just ready!! I've had talks with my baby telling her we are ready for her and she can come out now. Ahhh but it's not in my hands
Been having what I believe are contractions every 4-6 minutes for the past hour...feels like really terrible period cramps with bonus lower back pain. Diarrhea (another bonus) a few times now and mucus plug must be about gone at this point. Think I'll be heading to the hospital shortly...fingers crossed that this is the real deal.
Went to see Jurassic World last night, and got stuck in the middle of a row. Had some really uncomfortable contractions, started freaking out a bit and planning my escape, imagining my water breaking all over the people who let me climb over them instead of scooting down for a nine month pregnant woman to sit on the aisle. I so wish that happened.
Anyway, they were about 10 minutes apart but still inconsistent and not that uncomfortable when we got home and I felt my water break - just a little, like a small gush. So, I excitedly went to bed in order to get some rest before the big show. Slept on a towel to catch the rest of the fluid. Really didn't get much sleep, and, of course, contractions stopped and no more leaking. I guess I just peed myself, although I hadn't had any incontinence. What a tease! Now I'm just sitting on my exercise ball, having already gone up 9 flights of stairs. Sigh. Come on solstice baby! (EDD was the 18th.) Thanks for the vent, ladies. I appreciate seeing many of us in the same boat!
Thanks ladies for all the shout outs! Can't go into the hospital until 6pm. Kinda bummed .... Was hoping for 3pm. I'm starting to get a bit nervous. Mostly I'm nervous for pushing tomorrow.........
Just wanted to say hi ladies - sorry I'm mostly living in post-partum threads with my limited time... But I'm hoping you get your wishes and join us there soon! Fingers crossed!
Only 2 symptoms today. One is total frustration. 39+4 and am 3cm & 75% effaced. Just waiting & waiting now. And the other is that this pelvic pain is so bad I literally can't even walk without tearing up. I need a cain or walker for the next week lol.
At least there's only 8 more days until induction day, making this coming week my last work week. So that's the silver lining.
More frequent contractions today with a longer duration...yay progress! My hopes of a solstice baby will likely be dashed, but my guess is I'll be headed to the hospital during the wee hours of the night or tomorrow morning. I'd much rather labor at home than at the hospital, so fingers crossed they become solidly consistent.
Good luck to the other mommas having an induction or who are in labor today @klkonwi!
@klkonwi you're nearly there!! Nothing to do now but get that precious babe out! That epidural will continue to do its job I'm saying a prayer for everyone involved.
Went to hospital around 1:30 yesterday with bad back labor contractions 3-4 minutes apart. At first my cervix was so far back the triage nurses tried to tell me I was still closed. My BP was borderline so they kept me for bloodwork but said I may have to go back home. I thought that would kill me. 90 minutes later, with contractions every 2 minutes, they checked again and declared me 4-5cm. Thank god.
Have GBS so needed to get my first dose of drugs down before they'd allow the epidural. At this point I'd been having regular back labor contractions of increasing intensity for about 7 hours. Finally got the epidural and some relief when I was 6cm.
I then had a 5 minute contraction that pushed me from 6-8 cm and upset the baby, dropping her heart rate...so I had to get drugs to slow me down. Her head had dropped to +2 after that, so I just had to get to 10cm, which took about another 3 hours. After 2.5 hours of pushing, baby girl was finally born just in time to make father's day at 11:55pm. 7lbs 7oz 20.5". My due date was today.
She ate for about 3 hours total between 1 and 5:30 am but has been asleep in the bassinet ever since so we're doing well!
Good luck ladies, can't wait to see your birth announcements!
