We used a pack and play for 6 months with a bassinet feature, then transitioned to a crib.

We keep a bassinet in our bedroom and in the living room and she has a crib in her bedroom

So my friend at work told me that it's different for different moms. Some moms use a crib from day 1 and some prefer a bassinet. 

I think we're going to get a co-sleeper only because when i first wake up from a dead sleep, I can be a little clumsy and a co-sleeper minimizes the amount of co-ordination required to get my kid from bed to boob.

We used the crib almost from day one.
