Slight Fever

After feeling 100% okay all day, I just got sudden crazy fatigue and felt like my skin was warmer than usual, so I checked my temperature...it was 99 and within 30 minutes climbed up to 99.4. I'm having the hubs swing by the pharmacy for some Tylenol on his way home from work, since I know it's safe to use, but it has me nervous nevertheless! I have my first dr appt tomorrow morning, so unless the temperature gets up to something crazy, I plan on holding out until then...any advice from anybody who may have had a fever while pregnant before? I tried searching the boards but didn't come up with much, someone somewhere did say it's safe as long as you stay under 101? Of course this would happen right as I'm feeling well and right before my first ultrasound, can't ever have life be too perfect! hehe

I would take the Tylenol. There's no point in you being miserable all night. I've had to take some for headaches a couple of times and today we heard baby's heartbeat and he/she is great. :-) Tylenol has been around a long time. Doctors wouldn't say it was okay if it wasn't.

Thanks, @TinyDancer51510 I'm going to take the Tylenol I just hope it works! Since I have an appt in like 14 hours it would be such a shame to have to waste time and money on any urgent care before then

You could also try taking a cool ( not cold) shower. Hope you're feeling better!

99.4 isn't even a fever

I just got over a virus this week where I had a 101 fever for four days...ugh! Tylenol and water is what was recommended. My primary doctor and OB both reassured me.  They said rest, Tylenol, and lots of water.

I was really freaked out too so I get it!  Feel better!

i had to go my OB for some labs and when they took my temp it was 99.5 i think and considered a low grade fever they didnt seem too concerned

@brooksdominique I wish Tylenol did anything for me, but it hasn't brought it down for a split second, I need my ibuprofen, haha. As long as it holds and doesn't go up I know it's fine, it just definitely seems to coincide with feeling like a ball of pure poop...I just took a 5 hour nap today, which I don't have the luxury of doing every day so I hope it stops soon! I feel better after having my first ultrasound today and the doctor saying everything looked good, so I'm trying to take it in stride and not stress out and sleep it off as much as possible

(And yes, 99.4 is a fever. It's not a high fever but it still causes the same aches, pains, and chills.)

@TinyDancer51510 Thanks, that's so sweet! The damn thing refuses to go away, and I feel like it's hitting me harder than normally, like it feels like I normally would at 101. But I got to finally see my baby today, so I will just sleep it off and not let anything get me down today!

Aw, I'm sorry. Yay for seeing baby though! :-) Hope you feel better quickly. Being sick and being pregnant are tough in and of themselves.

I've had a low grade fever (99.?) for weeks. I'm so tired of it. I never had this issue with my daughter, but my doctor said at my last appt that my body is being thrown in a loop again and just trying to adjust. I freeze all the time, but my belly stays hot so that makes me sick. First trimester is always a losing situation for me. I can never win. Nausea, bloating, headaches, fatigue, dizzy spells, hot, cold, .... Well, that list could go on for days.

@katymae08 oh no! I'm only at 8 weeks, if I have to deal w this for another month I may go insane! I just took yet another nap...I'm taking a summer course (thankfully online) and I have 2.5 weeks left, and I have been struggling to feel well enough to finish this week's work...and the next 2 weeks are all projects and exams! Bahh! Remind me how shitty this feels when I come back in a couple years wanting another baby, hahaha
