Post pill and no period

hi all,
A question for everyone out there--I just got off the pill a month ago and am currently 5 days late. I took 3 tests which were all negative but I'm wondering if this is normal? I was in the pill for 8 year. Any insight?

It's pretty common to be irregular after coming off BC. When I stopped taking the pill I had withdraw bleeding a couple weeks later then didn't have a true period until December. Unfortunately my periods never became regular, which is another story, but it is common to be irregular at first. I found temping helped a lot since it gave insight into what my body was doing.

It's very common to have short, long, irregular, and everything in between after going off birth control. Temping/charting would help you pinpoint when and if you ovulated and when to expect your period and what is normal for YOU, because the quintessential 28-day cycle does not apply to all that many people. 

Personally on my third month off the pill and had a 26 and 24 day cycle so far. If you look at the WTO threads you will see many people have 40+ day cycles and that is what's normal for them.

Hello, your cycle length is determined by the day you ovulate. The later you ovulate, the longer your cycle. Since you are just off the pill, you can't know how long your cycle is supposed to be and when to test.
Since your tests were negative, that means you are not pregnant right now. But it is still possible for you test positive later this cycle, if you ovulated less than 14 days ago.

Hey OP, I had the same feeling. Quit BC in May and hadn't gotten AF as of mid June. I knew it was going to take a while for my body to "reset" and I also knew I wasn't KU, but the waiting was driving me a little batty b/c my body was doing "typical" AF behavior (sore boobs, acne). The next day, AF came!

Your body is still figuring out which way is up, so give it time. After lurking, I did learn that if AF doesn't come in 60 days, you can get your doc to jump start your cycle. Good luck!
