2nd Trimester

Hi there

It is possible to know the gender within 14 weeks? :)

Re: Hi there

  • ACTUALLY, you can go to a 3D/4D ultrasound and find out! That goes along with if the Dr has your due date correct and baby is progressing as usual!

  • I just found out what I was having, I'm 14 weeks 3 days. You can find out. Not everyone has an appointment at week 20, as my next is 18 weeks. The doctor even told my fiance and I that it looks to be a little boy and we'll do an ultra sound again next time. Not everyone is the same. Or has to wait to find out what they are having.

No, you will not know the gender at 14 weeks. You will not know the gender until your child is able to talk you that he/she identifies as make/female. Finding out the SEX is too early at 14 weeks. Boys and girls look similar at that stage. Wait until your 20 week ultrasound- hopefully everything is ok with baby and is growing and developing well....IF baby cooperates you may be able to find out the sex, even that is not 100% Only birth is.
Boy it sure is confusing for people to know what words to use around here when GENDER is the word OUR DOCTORS are using.

We get it. Kids can be transsexual and as a parent, I have total faith that my kid will tell me if he or she is and we'll be able to do everything in our power to help our child transition if they choose to.

But medically accepted terminology is not something a person who is NOT a doctor, shrink, social worker, LGBT activist etc should get sarcastic guff over. Our doctors are calling it gender testing. YOUR doctor is calling it that too. Just promise me if you condescend to your doctor this way, to get it on video and post it here because my morning sickness has come back with a vengeance and i need a light moment.
  • You can find out at a blood test for sure that early. So there are ways to find out if you want to....

I wouldn't go out buying all Blue or Pink based on a 14 week scan. The further along you are the most accurate it will be.
Have them check again at your 18 week scan.
A friend thought she was having a girl at 17 weeks based on an ultrasound. At a later scan at 26 weeks, she is actually having a boy.

  • I can't go yet for buying things to my little one
