has anyone failed the one hour test? I failed pretty spectacularly apparently. I have PCOS and am an old so I knew it was quite possible but I really didn't think I would fail quite as badly.
I have PCOS and failed my one hour with my twins ( which I hear is normal for twin pregnancies) but passed my 3 hour. With this one, I haven't had a glucose test yet with this one, so I guess I'm not really much help! Sorry!!
I also have PCOS. I know it messes with your insulin but beyond that I don't know much about that aspect of it. I was diagnosed in Feb and was already pregnant so I didn't do much research. Are you more likely to fail with PCOS?
@ashfen426 Do you mind me asking how much you failed the first by? I was a 199- which I believed pretty much guarantees me failing the three hour Thanks!
@olivep42 I can't remember, but I know that I didn't fail by much. I ate a bowl of Cheerios about an hour before, so that could be why I failed. I fasted for the 3 hour and passed.
How long intill the results came in whether you failed or not? I took mine Friday and I haven't heard back I was just wondering how long was the wait to find out....
I have pcos and passed the one hour test. However, my odds for my daughter having downs increased bc pcos increased my hcg(?) levels (I think that's what they measure for downs) which I have read can be affected by pcos. She was born wo Down syndrome. After she was born I no longer have pcos and got pregnant wo any help fairly quickly, thank goodness.
I failed the 1 hour. Going for the 3 hour on Monday. I'm on the carb loading diet today is my first day. Holy sugar. I already feel sugar buzzed this morning I ate cereal, milk, raspberries, chocolate cookie, 1/2 cup of coffee and coffee cake.
For lunch I’m supposed to have a meat, macaroni or
potato, vegetable, 1 extra starch and 1 extra sweet.
Went for the three hour but threw up the drink within 30 Minutes. Not sure if it was the heat, fasting or all the sugar, but then my blood pressure dropped. Now going to meet with a specialist and will probably have to prick my finger and test blood sugar manually. They said my fasting blood sugar level was awesome at 80 So hoping All is well.
I was diagnosed with PCOS at 16, however I've never had an issue with any of the symptoms other than being overweight and irregular periods. I was always told I'd need help getting pregnant.
After losing about 50lbs my periods regulated and at 32 with the mistake of missing a few BC pills I got pregnant naturally. So, I'm not sure I really have PCOS. I've never had an issue with cysts or anything.
Anyway, I am a little worried about the glucose test. My midwives want me to take it around 27 weeks. So I'll see at the end of July what happens.
I have PCOS and take the glucose test on the 22nd (28 weeks then). At my 24 week the regular urine test showed some sugar in my system. However I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with applesauce less than an hour before. Makes me a little nervous for the glucose test. But they must not have been too concerned as they didn't make me do it then. What do they say is normal for the 1 hour and 3 hour tests?
Pregnant with twins. Havent dont my glucose test yet but I have been monitoring my sugars since 14 weeks as I have been on Metformin this whole pregnancy. I do have pretty bad PCOS needing fertility to conceive. Seen endocrinology and dietician and they are already thinking PM insulin without doing glucose test because my morning sugars are high. Sucks to have this stupid syndrome and I feel insulin in a fail. But you gotta do what ya gotta I guess. Good luck ladies!!
I failed both! And I have PCOS. I've had it for years! You are NOT alone. Since I failed, I had to take a class to learn how to check my blood sugar and diet right. It isnt that bad! Dont be bummed... It is all for baby! Lmk if you need anything!
Re: Any PCOS mamas? Anyone fail Glucose test?
Thanks!
