Acne!!!

How are you treating your acne?!? I have very sensitive skin and usually just use Cerave Sensitive Skin Daily Face Cleanser but it's not working!! I never went through acne as a teen or an adult so this is new to me. My complexion has always been ivory and bare. My husband pointed out yesterday that he could connect my zits and make the Big Dipper.... Thanks honey.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Re: Acne!!!

  • I adjusted my face wash a bit. I use Clinique, and I switched from the combination/dry skin to combination/oily skin, since I was definitely "glowing" and it seems to help tame it down a little bit.

  • I have had some craziness going on with my skin and one of my friends recommended Mamma Mio to me, I bought their belly cream and their face soap and lotion, I really like it, especially the wash. I feel like my skin is soft and bright compared to using my typical skin care which I've never had a problem with until now (simple). Maybe it will work for you too, good luck!
  • I'm broken out like a teenager, and nothing helps
  • I've had acne since I was about 14? Surprisingly my face is kind of the same as it's always been. Except the fact that my face is 1000x more oily than it has EVER been.
I've been switching between three different face washes but none are working :(
  • I've been using tea tree oil directly on blemishes and it works really well!
  • My acne was bad as soon as I went off BC, but got even worse after we conceived.

Right now I use Clinique Acne Solutions steps 1 and 3 and also the body bar to help with this crazy acne on my chest and back!
  • I broke out like CRAZY the first six weeks... I ordered Belli Fresh Start Pre-Treatment scrub, Anti Blemish facial wash, healthy glow facial hydrator and Acne Control spot treatment and love it. Skin is clearing right up and no new blemishes.
  • I have acne too and it's so annoying because I had my skin care regime working so well. Now I'm lost on what to do. I don't like this at all.

I normally have dry skin , now it's normal but with a few spots, I will take the spots over dry skin any day!!! But my hair is def getting dirty way too quick
  • I use olay sensitive wash. Then I put a drop of tea tree oil on my hand and mix it in my hands with my moisturizer and rub it on my face.
  • I also use the Belli anti blemish face wash and spot treatment. I love it. It is my understanding from research that you shouldn't use salicylic acid products for acne treatment while pregnant.
  • I use Perfectly Posh's BFF face wash and moisturize 911. They have really helped.

I'm a fan of the Clinique oily soap as well! I recommend using all 3 steps. The clarifying lotion (toner) is a very gentler exfoliant and helps with the oil and their oil free moisturizer actually helps to control oil. I never have had bad skin until I got pregnant. They say it gets better after the first trimester! Just 2 more weeks!
  • Mine was soooo bad with my first baby. Like so bad that my dental hygienist made a comment to me (I wanted to punch her....) I got a preggo-safe prescription from my dermatologist and it's much more controlled for this pregnancy. My dr said Clearisil is safe but that never worked for me
  • I've had a few facials and that has seemed to help. And the shoulder rub is a nice bonus.
  • Just FYI that over the counter acne washes are not necessarily safe in pregnancy. Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are category C. Talk to a dermatologist if you're really struggling; there are a couple prescription treatments that are safe.
  • I have always had acne but the last few days or so my rosacea is out of control! I feel like my face is on fire! I hate going to the dermatologist because I feel like they over treat. I bought some organic face stuff at Whole Foods and am now looking up each ingredient to make sure it's safe for pregnancy. I think I will have to break down and call a dermatologist on Monday!
  • I'll have to try the tea tree oil! It's on my chin and back, the worst is my back on my bra line! Ugh!
