Allergies! What's safe?

I have never had issues with allergies until this year/pregnancy. I had them so bad two months ago and finally got them under control with Claritin for a month. Now the Claritin isn't working anymore and I'm wondering if I can take Allegra while pregnant? I have a friend who's doctor told her it was ok but was curious about others.
I also tried Benadryl and it helped a little bit before the Claritin but not much.

Re: Allergies! What's safe?

  • I took Benadryl, drank hot tea with lemon and honey and tackled my cough with Robitussin.  Oh and lots of fruits and vegetable!

  • Benadryl, Claratin, and Zyrtec are safe... Just googled it (for my own use) and that's what is on the Mayo Clinic website. I popped a Zyrtec about 10 minutes ago. I've suffered long enough.

  • Acupuncture is the best thing I have found! I went 1 time last year and they still haven't bothered me since. I find I usually have to go once a year.
  • My OB told me I couldn't take my Allegra D and to really try not to take anything but if needed she said Sudafed or some other med that I've never heard of. So I went with the Sudafed and just take it if I'm really suffering.
  • I got prescribed a nasal spray and allergy eye drops and they seem to be helping more than taking pills!
  • Oh so glad read this! I have had a sinus infection for week now can't do anything because of the pain doctor can't put me on antibiotics because I'm allergic to penaclline and told me wasn't allowed to have any of those but I needed to see my pregnancy doctor because all docs in my area are worried about me taking anything it's actually annoying I wish they looked into information more because I got told by my doc to go off my anxiety tablets cold turkey but things got so bad spoke to my pregnancy doc and she told me to go back on them and the risk which there was none yet for some reason my normal doctor did not know this and when I asked for prescription she wasn't very nice about it... I'm glad I know can use something though I get worst sinus infections from hay fever ect
