Membrane sweep!

I'm 2/2.5 cm & 70% effaced & just had my first membrane sweep. Hearing it's started labor pretty well for a lot of women. How great has it worked for you girls?

It didn't work for me. Just caused a lot of false labor contractions.

This has been discussed probably a million times. Take a look around the board, you'll get allllllll kinds of experiences.

Some have had their membranes swept and went into labor a couple of days later, some haven't, one has had it done 3 times and she's still pregnant. I encourage you to look for more details.

I had it done with my first and went I to labor 2 days later. I'm now 38 weeks and begging my doctor to do one again!

I had it done with my first as well and it worked in a few days. I asked my doctor to do it today he said nope I'm 38w3d. He checked and said my cervix is closed so he couldn't do it even if he wanted to. So just a waiting game in the end the baby will come when it's time. Hang in there

I've had two already and been 4cm for over two weeks. Not effective for me.

I've had 2... The 2nd one was on Monday and she said if it works then it should work within 72 hours.... So I'm only half way to 72 hours. I did acupuncture today, we shall see!
