Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone else is going through this or has gone through this before. Unfortunately I was involved in a car accident yesterday, I'm 39 weeks tomorrow, and had an ultrasound done as I hadn't felt the baby move. Before I left the hospital I was told they had an accidental finding of the baby having fluids in her kidneys. i really got worried but was assured it wasn't from the accident. I was told by the nurse it is something common among babies about to be born. i followed up with my OB this morning and was told it was fine not to worry and just follow up at my next appointment. I am nervous because everyone seems to really be playing this down. I am a first time mom here and my mind is going off in so many directions...any advice would help.
Re: fluid in babies kidneys...
We've had 3 ultrasounds so far but it hasn't resolved completely yet. DS is 2.5. Our ped didn't even bring it up at his last appt, so I need to. But we've had no issues, just a trip to radiology every 6-12 mo. Unless you have kidney disease in your family, I really wouldn't stress. Just make sure you bring it up with your pediatrician at the first appt so it doesn't go unmonitored.
With monitoring and being watchful, I am just trying to trust that my healthcare people know what they're doing and that he'll be okay.
sorry to hear of your little one's struggles. Hoping everything continues to be monitored @1miraclebaby15 and that your baby will be here safe and sound soon. Keep us posted, please!
Blessed
