Re: Tuesday Ticker Change

  • Sorry about the layout! It looked better in the draft box...

    Weeks/fruit: 21 weeks and a pomegranate

Something that went well: We were in a parade this past weekend and DD did an awesome job. It was hot and long, but it was so fun to see her interacting with the crowd and enjoying the fun! I was a pregnant woman walking for our local fitness center, so we got plenty of compliments for representing the pregnant women at the gym, too!

A challenge: My heartburn and acid reflux are in full swing. They were awful with DD, so I'm bracing myself for the next few months. I told DH last night that I know I can do it, but I also know how challenging the next part of pregnancy can be. I'm really trying to stay strong (mentally and physically) and positive.

GTKY: I love eggs for breakfast. I feel so much better when I start my day with lots of protein :)

  • Week 24: she's about the size of a cantaloupe now!

What went well this past week:
DS finally said "grandma" for the first time, AND I got it on video to send to my mom!
DH was able to negotiate a $1.50/hour pay raise and he's supposedly getting another $1.00/hour raise in a couple months. This will be a huge help when DD arrives!

    What was challenging:
The hot weather plus my pregnancy has my energy level at zero, so even cleaning the house and getting to the gym are a challenge lately. I have about enough energy to lay on the couch and watch "SpongeBob" with my son (when I'd much rather be watching him play on the playground outside!).

GTKY: I usually like a homemade bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich to give me energy for the day, but lately I've been craving Waffles. There are so many Waffle House restaurants near where I live that I pass one nearly everywhere I go and I'm just like, "Waffles!!!!"

  • Week/Fruit: 23 Weeks - Grapefruit!

    What went well:
Hubby had a job interview that he feels went really well. We are crossing our fingers that he gets the job, since it is a significant pay increase. Fingers crossed!!

    What was challenging:
Staying hydrated in the hot weather. I'm also wrapping up another term (working on my Masters) and I'm struggling big time!

    GTKY:
I'm not a huge fan of breakfast foods, but I LOVE omelets.  I also love bacon, hash browns and sausage!!! Mmmm... makes me want a nice big breakfast now!
  • Week/Fruit: 23 Weeks - Grapefruit!

    What went well:
Started reorganizing rooms and trying to figure out where to put baby.  We finally got it figured out this past weekend!  Just glad to start getting all of this stuff squared away!

    What was challenging:
My husband is just miserable in his job and really needs to quit. Of course this is the worst possible time with a baby on the way but I cannot ask him to stay in his position and be miserable.  We just try to live by the "everything happens for a reason" rule.  I also am feeling pretty crappy today....probably for the first time.  I have a headache, my neck hurts, this morning getting ready for work I felt myself get hot and sweaty and had to sit down.  I just don't feel right today.

    GTKY:
    Mimosa's!

Weeks/fruit/other comparison? 21 weeks and pomegranate

What went well this past week? Spent some time with my BFF shopping for her wedding. It's a small wedding, with just me as the matron of honor and her groom's best man as the wedding party.

What was challenging this past week? Finding a bridesmaid dress that fit my ever growing bump and boobs!

GTKY: What is your favorite breakfast/brunch food? I still have a hard time keeping down eggs (even though I love omelettes and quiche), so right now would be yogurt and granola, with fresh fruit.

    Edit: typing error
  • eh, 24 weeks I'm a cantalope..I'll be 25 on Thursday I think that's a Cauliflower.

This has been a challenging week for me.  Today I witnessed some grown ass woman smack her small child super hard right on the forehead and I thought her little neck was going to snap.  I had to say something, so I said I don't think you should hit your kid like that..she said well that's why she's my kid! then walked off.  then everyone in the store was like I can't believe you said something!  sorry, but how could I not say anything?  If you believe in violence against kids that's your perogative, but limit it to a pat on the behind not a full force blow to the face.  poor kid, then I feel guilty I didn't do more.

Then yesterday some lady literally almost ran into my car so I beeped at her to let her know I was there, it wasn't a mean honk just a "hey, I'm here honk."  She went off on me rolling her window down and cussing me out.

  • @Rikki_5, I don't think there's anything like someone misinterpreting a honk to put you in a bad mood! I hate it when people get overly aggressive while driving! Take it easy, right?! We're all just trying to get where we're going in one piece!

  • Week: 24 weeks yea!!! Baby is the size of a cantaloupe

Something good this week: had a much needed date night with DH went out to dinner and see "Spy". The whole evening was awesome!

Something challenging: poor DD had hand foot and mouth so she was miserable sun-wed.

Favorite breakfast food-hash browns sausage strawberry crepes...I could go on for quite a while:)
  • Week 21- Pomegranate

Something Good this Week: Even though energy is still low, was able to clean out the spare room and started painting the nursery aqua and lavender. Its coming together nicely!

Something Challenging: Another coworker is leaving and my caseload is now at 80! I work for an early inyervention program and provide support for families with children wiyh developmental delays and disabilities ages birth to 3. I now have 80 families to check in with, schedule meetings for, etc. On a monthly basis. I hope I can give all these families the support they need!

Breakfast Food: ugh... Still getting morning sickness (at least now its actually only in the morning) but if I can eat anything , has to be a cheeseburger. Everything else comes back up!

  • Weeks/fruit: 23 weeks / grapefruit (I've never seen a foot long grapefruit lol)

Something that went well: I have made healthier choices this week which makes me feel good :)

A challenge: This California HEAT :( I broke down and bought two pairs of maternity shorts today and I loveeeee them !! Can't wait to wear them tomorrow !

GTKY: I love bagels with cream cheese --- yum :)
  • 23 Weeks and baby is the size of a Mango.

What went well: I started researching home birth and found a woman not only in my area but just went through it herself! We also found out we are having a girl after two sonograms! We already have a name.

What was challenging: OMG round ligament pain. I can barely walk sometimes but Daddy has been a trooper about propping my legs up so I could have some relief. Shortness of breath as well. Scary when you're at work and feel like fainting.

GTKY: I am absolutely loving the new cravings. Water Chestnuts, Cilantro, and Roasted Red Peppers are my favs!
