I'm 38 +5 and from my calves down to my toes, I've been so swollen. Some days I can barely walk or put on flip flops. It felt like my feet were on fire Saturday. Is there anything I can do or take to help the swelling go down? Please help!
Make sure you are drinking enough water, and I believe salt can make you swell so try not to eat anything too salty. Has your doctor recommeneded anything to help? Also, relax and put your feet up!
I'm in the same boat. My Dr. says all you can do is try to limit salt and be sure to stay hydrated. He claims the swelling goes away very quickly after giving birth but when I look at my lower legs I find it hard to believe!!
Eat watermelon , avoid bread and grain type foods, no grits, oatmeal or breads. No processed meat like bacon or lunchmeat. Elevate your feet. Drink plenty of water.
You are describing my last two weeks of pregnancy. I tried everything - water, elevating feet, avoiding salt, cabbage, Epson salts, baths, etc. NOTHING worked for me. I don't want to be a Debbie downer but you just have to get through it. You are ALMOST there. Keep your eye on the prize - a beautiful healthy baby.
P.S. make sure your blood pressure is ok as well. Severe swelling is a sign of pre-e.
Get compression hose from your doctor or a specialty shop and wear tight shoes (like running shoes, not flip flops) with it. Ive had this problem since week 24. It's the only thing that works for me.
