Any previous Team Greens???

We had our anatomy scan last week and at the very end the tech asked if we would like to know the gender? My husband and I chose to be team green all along but it was soooo tempting!!! We stuck with the plan and didn't find out, but any previous team green parents give in to the temptation? Are you glad you did??

Re: Any previous Team Greens???

  • This is our second baby and we did not find out either time.  This time I was a little tempted but I know I won't regret it once the baby is born.  It's so exciting when your husband says, it's a boy! (or girl!)  It's also fun when you get to announce it your family friends.

Team Green until delivery here! I was tempted at an "early reveal" scan but after turning it down, the temptation and desire to know has totally dissolved. We went into our anatomy scan a few weeks ago with absolutely no desire to know boy or girl.
I am over the moon excited to hear my husband say it's a boy or girl :)
  • We were team green with dd1 but found out its a boy this time :) so far, I've enjoyed both experiences and am happy we found out but so happy we didn't first time around. A Now that we have one of each, we will not find out with any future kiddos. I suspect being team green was part of my mind game during my natural labor first time around but I'm won't know the effect of knowing until October..... We will see....

  • We were all about team green in the beginning.  That was more me though, hubby wanted to know but he went by my wishes.  But then we couldn't agree on a girls name and would argue (boys name came easy).  This is also the only child we'll have (cuz we're old!) so I was thinking it would be nice to just get either all girl stuff or all boy stuff.  Then because I'm old they had me do the MaterniT 21 test....and I just couldn't resist when I found out you can find out the sex then!  If we were going to have more than one.....I would have probably stayed team green.  Stick to it!  It will be such a wonderful surprise!

  • I'm a FTM and team green. The tech told us to turn our heads when she looked down there during the AS. My boyfriend wasn't totally convinced on team green, but I got the final say. I can't wait to find out when baby is born.

I have a feeling it's a boy, so we'll see how good my mother's intuition is.
  • The first time around I wanted to be team green and I knew that if anyone else knew, I would want to know more, so I forced my husband into team green. It was a boy and the whole "it's a boy" experience was not nearly as exciting as I thought it would be.

With the second one it was completely up to him since I made the call on the first one. We went so far as to have them write it down and out it in an envelope and then my husband decided he didn't want to know after all and so the envelope stayed sealed. It was a girl, which was what my husband wanted and he was so happy that it stayed a surprise. She was also the first girl cousin (out of 10) on that side so the whole family was extra excited.

This time around I would have been more than happy to find out, but my husband has loved being team green the last 2 times that I am just going to let him have this one. I think it is way easier being team green since we have done it before. I think that if we found out with the first one I don't know if we would be able to not know.
  • I wanted to be Team Green but after a very stressful week leading up to our scan we caved. I am so happy we did!! I felt like this baby was a boy and when I found out she is a little girl it was the best surprise of my life. My husbands face was the best thing I have ever seen and we are so in love with her!! I was surprised that I didn't feel disappointed that it wasn't a boy because I have always dreamed of little boy. We haven't told anyone other than my parents.
  • I was originally team green but then had a really hard time with morning sickness and was not enjoying being pregnant at all. So when the time came for us to find out we did because I thought it would connect me more to the baby. I am so glad we found out ! It was so fun plus I think labor will be enough of a surprise for one day! But good job sticking to your own plan :)
  • Still team green after ultrasound! Only the ultrasound tech knows, so no inadvertent slips by our doctors. It was really tempting being THIS CLOSE to knowing, but I like the idea of the surprise. I love that you ladies mentioned husbands/partners being the one to tell you at delivery if it's a boy or girl! He'd love that! Thanks for the idea.
