20 weeks 5 days and 3 cm dilated

called my doc because I had excess clear fluid in my undies only to discover I was three cm dilated. I almost in tears in fear for my little baby... Any other mommies ever had to have a cervical cerclage placed in? I'm nervous about the risk to my baby.

No but I have read in my other forum ladies going into birth that wish they could've done it and were told too late so I'd do you research and act fast! Prayers!

I had a cerclage put in at 13 weeks with this pregnancy. With my son they found out i was dilating at 19 weeks. I was able to get a cerclage right away and went to full term with him. The procedure is somewhat simple and I'm taking the 17p shots weekly too. Like a pp said. I think the worst thing that could happen is not being able to get the cerclage if the there isn't enough crevice to stitch. With my first child my cervix was completely efaced when they caught it and it was too late to save her. I wish u the very best. God. Bless.

@Mandy0360 I woke up and the whole seat of my undies were so wet to the point of being uncomfortable to put back on. I just felt it was too much if the fluid had filled the whole crotch part of the panties

@houstongirl77 did the fluid have a smell or anything? I've had really wet undies quite frequently that I thought was just urine or discharge, but now you have me nervous.

I had a cerclage put in at 17 weeks due to a shortened cervix (I have a history of a shortened cervix and preterm labor). I was told 24 weeks was the cut off for getting a cerclage. I've also been getting weekly progesterone shots since 16 weeks. Definitely see if a cerclage is possible. Best of luck to you!

@Mandy0360 the fluid had no smell at all and it was watery. If it's discharge or thicker
Than water it could be indicative of something else going on like an infection (this is what my doc told me) also i would notice a small gush of the fluid come out if I coughed really hard or sat down too hard. If you feel it is excessive or too much in your personal opinion there's nothing wrong with going to get checked out. Even if they say you're fine at least you'll have the peace of mind knowing u and baby are ok

UPDATE: So I had my cerclage placed in yesterday afternoon. The procedure went just fine. I was very nervous in the OR but they reassured me everything was going to be fine. I'm in a little pain but I'm ok. Thank you for the kind words and prayers fellow mommies
