Worrying like crazy!

I'm a FTM and 27+5 pregnant. My little man was always on the move at the same time every day, although the last few days he has calmed right down. I went to the midwife on Friday and she said his heart beat was low (146) but that's probably because he was sleeping. Since then Ive been getting little twinges but I wouldn't say there kicks. I've got a 4D Scan booked for today but I worrying that something is wrong :( any ideas what to do ladies?

  • Babies have active days and lazy days. My bubs will roundhouse kick me constantly for days on end, then be really chill for a day or so. As long as you are still feeling movement, you should be okay. My OB told me that I could do kick counts if I ever got worried, by drinking something cold and sugary (orange juice), laying down on my left side, and counting the movements. If I don't get to 6 movements within an hour, she wants me to call in.

    Also, keep in mind that baby is running out of room, so you're getting close to the point where they types of movement you feel will start changing. Instead of feeling big, giant kicks and punches, you might start feeling more subtle rolls and twitches as he starts to run out of space. A lot of times, I don't notice these movements unless my hand is on my belly.

    I definitely agree with PP; if you feel something is wrong, you need to call your midwife. Boutique 4D scans are usually not performed by medically trained ultrasound techs, so they should not be giving you any advice regarding the health of your baby.

  • Thank you girlies for the advice. I still went for the scan but he spent a good 10 minutes sleeping! Hes moved a lot more today. Still not the same as usual though. His heart beat was a lot stronger then the other day. I called the midwife and they said they can't do anything until I'm 28 weeks because the movements are regular. There not being very helpful lately tbh. But ill take into account what You's said :x
  • Once you are farther along you will want to monitor movement, or lack of, but for now, try to relax and not worry. It's hard, but just try.
  • That does not seem low. 150 is avg and gets lower as you progress.
