Last year I had a CT scan for a routine head neck check; I have a history with neck spasms, stroke (due to a chiropractic neck adjustment), and migraine.
Anyway, the scan revealed spinal stenosis and a few thyroid nodules.
I'm due for another scan. Since last year I've suffered many symptoms of hypothyroidism, including weight gain, recurrent miscarriage, extreme chronic fatigue.
I will be 38 in a few months.
My TSH & T4 Free have both recently come back normal.
Wondering if anyone hAs any input on this, particularly with recurrent miscarriage.
I am going to schedule the U/s and see my PCP on the 22nd. Part of me just wants to push to go on synthroid.
I am tired (physically and mentally) of this medical crap.
I feel in my gut I'm not being treated in the way I need to and I'm so effing frustrated.
Thanks for reading, any and all comments welcome,
Re: Thyroid nodules
Anyway, I'm not sure why, if your TSH and T3 and T4 are in the normal range, you think you have hypothyroidism. The symptoms you describe, while awful, are not only symptoms of thyroid dysfunction. But I am not a doctor. If I were you, I might go see a specialist -- a medical endocrinologist, not an RE. Start fresh, with someone who specializes just in this, and you'll feel better about it. I also want to mention (though you probably know this) that if you do need synthroid, it's important to inform your m.e. if you are pregnant very early on, as they have to increase the dose during pregnancy.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
My concerns stem back to a history of chronic fatigue and the fact that I've gained 30lbs in two years. I am 5'1 and usually weigh between 110-118. I guess in many ways I'm grappling with my lack of diagnosis despite 12 years of drs. visits and many specialists.
I have not seen an endocrinologist. My requests have been ignored based on TSH level alone.
Thank you for your suggestions. I'll keep you posted.
My tsh is .97 as of last month, which is up from .77 last year.
I know this is within a "normal range" and I do not have any problems getting pg, however I've had 3 mc in the past 2 years.
I think I will request an RE. I had chromosomal genetic blood testing done, and it came back normal.
I don't know. I'm getting anxious the closer I get to ovulation.
