Free class at Gymboree...

My dd went today, it was level 5 as shes 31 mths.  I wasnt that impressed.  I thought it was a little babyish for her.  People say shes a little mature for her age...We used to take gymnastics, so maybe im comparing it to that(smaller equipment, lady uses childish voice).  My dd had fun, there was stuff that she loved(bubbles, parachuse, gymbo).  Anyone have a membership??  What age..Thx

Re: Free class at Gymboree...

  • My 20 mo DD goes and loves it. I think its not as focused on any one thing as gymnastics would be. Sorry, I'm not much help though - her nanny takes her while I work so I don't have a ton of insight.
  • My daughter is almost 2 and we have been going to gymboree since she was around 6 months old.  We love it.

I think that you will find that the gymboree classes vary a lot.  A different day/time with a different group of kids, a different teacher, etc. make a world of difference.  For example, we used to go on Saturdays, but it was always a larger class and different kids/parents coming in for trials and make ups, so DD was always a little shy.  Once we switched into a weekday class that was more consistent, she is so much more outgoing and enjoys it more.

Also, when our teacher has needed the day off and someone else covers the class, we have not enjoyed it as much.  Each teacher does things differently.  If you can, I'd try a different time, day, teacher, etc. and see what you think.
