Natural Cycle FET

Hi ladies,
I have one beautiful baby boy via a medicated FET and would love to hear any experiences with a NC FET. I am strongly considering this option. thank you.

No experience sorry, my practice doesn't do natural cycles.

I didn't even know that was an option for a FET.

I have no experience, but one of the big local REs does this. You still have to go through the non-natural cycle portion to actually get eggs. Then just place during your natural cycle. I figure, if I am going through all the trouble in the first place, I want to do everything in my power to have the placement work. To me, that means more science.

Everything I've read shows higher success rates with a medicated cycle, and my RE won't consider a natural cycle at all for that reason.

When we were doing fertility treatments with #1 and I converted my IUI to IVF (Ended up converting back to IUI because I understimmed, but I did get my son that cycle), it was brought up to me at the big clinic I was at, to try it after a freeze all cycle I was planning on doing that never happened. The nurse seemed very excited about it. I reminded them I didn't have cycles at all so that wouldn't be possible, but other than that, I don't know much about it. My new clinic didn't mention it at all. I agree with @Flamingemu, and I would want to give myself the best chance of success. I would definitely ask about success rates and do some research on them. I personally don't care about being natural and would want to do whatever whatever works the best. I wish you good luck with whatever you choose!

@karen5, do you mean a natural cycle FET as in one where transfer is after ovulation which may be induced by use of medications and may still be supported by progesterone and other medications?  Or an unmedicated FET?

I've done a natural cycle FET where we used Femera (to help with implantation due to my endo and to help time ovulation) and a trigger and then started progesterone a few days before transfer.  It wasn't successful for me but I think that was due to embryo quality.  I know a few people who have done unmedicated cycles but unless you do not have any ovulatory, progesterone level or other issues, it would make more sense to at least use some assistance.

I went with a natural cycle FET because suppression with BCPs and even high doses of Lupron kept failing (I would ovulate through them).

I just did my FET and it was medicated. They explained to me that one medication (steroid) keeps your body from rejecting the embryo if it implants, another helps keep your lining nice and thick and from shedding too soon. The progesterone is known to help sustain a pregnancy. I really wouldnt do an unmediated cycle and risk the embryo. Even with my past. Which has shown my eggs are our problem not my uterus as I have had 6 pregnancies not all successful.
