  • My symptom is "momnesia". It's where basically I'm a STM but at least once a day every day I think to myself, "whaaaat?! I don't remember this". I don't know if it's bc every pregnancy is different, or a mental block or bc it's been so long since my first. It's just weird. So today bubs is squirming in all available space. Some spots I didn't even realize he had access to. I feel like an idiot. The only thing I know for sure is that once he gets here, I've got this. I know for sure how to take care of a baby. So that's comforting. Lol
  • Went to my weekly chiro appointment this morning. I told him if he didn't work his magic today he was fired. He thought I was kidding :-h
Walked around target this morning. Nothing, except my blood sugar nose dived out of nowhere and I started sweating profusely.
  • 2 things:
    1. Pup has been itchy lately & I mentioned it to the groomer today. When I picked him up, the groomer tells me he thinks it's because he is either bored... or having separation anxiety. I'm guessing he's picking up on the impending change. Weird.
    2. Chiropractor appointment this afternoon & then I might meander around Target to get things going... Here's to hoping!!
  • I have had surgeries on my right knee. This extra weight is causing big problems. Swelling, stiffness, lots of pain etc. when I wrap it my feet swell. Anyone know of anything else besides heat and ice? Tylenol is also a joke but we all know that already. Lol
  • 5 days past due date. I feel like I'm asleep more than I'm awake. Carpal tunnel is excruciating. Heartburn so bad I feel like I take so much tums all day everyday, they should pay me for all the unintentional advertising I do.

getting that uncomfortable period cramp feeling in my well where my uterus used to just be, its not an all over the bump thing. they make me feel nauseous. of course the one today was right after i finished making lunch :-w got one yesterday as well.. im going to assume its light contractions, (i did eat a bit of pineapple last night)
i have to work today and tomorrow so hopefully the stress of the dinner rushes doesnt cause me to reach my (water) breaking point.
noticed i keep getting some uncomfortable pain on my left side near my crotch. i havent been lifting anything to test out the limits of it, but i hope its not something like a hernia. [-O<

    ETA: overall feeling stabby.
  • 38 weeks and baby needs an eviction notice. :)

I've been having contractions for 8 days and I've dialated to 2 and 50% slowly over those days. My abs are tender and I've not really been sleeping. Diarrhea for 2 day snow. :/

I know 4 people this week here at home that are due after me that have had their babies in the past 2 days. Jealous.

I'm also cranky and my husband gets the brunt force of it and if he says sorry about one more thing I may cry.
  • Second hospital was a no go. My OB'S nurse was going to call the first hospital to see if she could get information or try to move me up the list. It just sucks knowing that if I go into labor on my own, DH will probably have to watch DS in the waiting area, I won't have any options for pain meds, and I will have to re-experience the most traumatic event of my life, most likely even faster than before. I can't. I just can't. The amount of tears and panic attacks in the last 2 days have been awful. I have no excitement anymore, only fear and dread. Even DH is upset. His exact quote: you shouldn't have to go through that again, no one should have to go through that. But it's starting to look like I will.
  • ^^^^^ this is awful. I am so sorry!
  • I'm a mess today.

@Zeuskay01 the Virginia pain is something that I never thought too much about either.... And not one of my friends warned me. I've had patients come in complaining of "pressure" towards the end when nothing is really going on labor wise but they never said, " my vagina freaking hurts !!!!!!"

I wish they would have..... Id be more prepared.

I've been telling my OB nurses about 'pressure' in Virginia for the past however long (I've lost track. Feels like a whole century). Next time, when I go in (this Friday), I'll say that. I say "my vagina freaking hurts. A LOT". That way, they'll be in the know. I'll pay it forward. It will be my civic duty from here on out to warn the nurses.

  • @sammyK I've been keeping my fingers crossed that the 2nd hospital would have better news. :( i'm so sorry to hear you didnt get better news. Praying you find a better solution + a better 2nd birth experience. Ugh thinking of you!

How often is everyone peeing from this pressure? Every 10, 20, 30 minutes?
I can't go 30 minutes. I'm wondering if I should insist on a Urinalysis Monday or just know this is normal crap that will only end in less than 2 weeks.
I think if pregnant women could sleep then we would actually be nice creatures :) just a thought for today !!!!

I'm up to 30 mins during the night. Definitely increased pressure in the last few days. Hoping it means progress on one hand. On the other hand, FI will be out of town for work tomorrow through Sunday and I don't want him to have to drive back under stress if I go into labor before Monday. We shall see.

It depends on if I pooped that day or not.
  • @Sammy K can you ask the hospital if they use acupuncture at all? Our hospital's cancer ward uses it a lot for pain management and nausea from chemo and they have them come to the hospital. Maybe they have some on staff that could work with you during labor for pain management and anxiety. Praying that things work out for you!
  • Ugh, pain in the vag, crampy back contractions since yesterday at 8am, peeing every 20 minutes, pooping more than I have this entire pregnancy, swollen feet that look like tree trunks, tender wrist, no sleep, serious pelvic pain and very tender bump. Can barely walk without tearing up because my pelvis hurts so bad. Sleeping on the couch because I can't roll my fat pregnant butt off of the bed to go to the bathroom & because the bed is unbearably uncomfortable anyway.

Cried like an idiot today because I'm just so over it at this point. Jealous of all the mommas who have had their babies. Just plain ready to get this going already.

Preaching to the choir, I know. Whiny, I know. My husbands been great though. Thank God for him.

I can ask but I doubt it will be an option. With DS, contractions started 2-3 min apart. Within an hour, they were a minute apart and basically relentless when we got to the hospital. Given it's a 20 min drive to the hospital, by the time we get there and get into a room, no one is going to want to stick me with a needle. They were barely able to get an IV started with DS. That's why I wanted to be induced - the only way they could guarantee pain meds was to place the epi catheter before starting pitocin. I went from 3cm to 10cm in less than an hour with DS and the first is supposed to take longer. I was also told that other than being induced, I am almost guaranteed to have a faster second labor. @-)
  • Contractions since about 3 this afternoon. It's now 9 in the evening. They are roughly 3-4 minutes apart lasting about a minute each. But they are bearable. Debating on calling the midwife... I don't want to show up only to get sent home... Again... But these have been going on a long time. Am I supposed to just wait until they are unbearable? Ugh. This was easier with my first pregnancy when my water just broke. That was a clear sign.
  • @sarahbaby87 I would head in if I were you. Any spotting? Are you due?
  • Super bad shooting pain in my sciatic nerve down my whole left leg today!
  • @klkonwi 37+2 with a history of preterm labor. I've been fighting off labor with this one since 31 weeks. Feeling contractions is nothing new for me, these have just been quite consistent and frequent.

I called my midwife. She would like me to rest another hour, and then call her back. Seeing if they stay the same, get worse, or what. She also said if I want to go in I can, it's all up to me really. I just hate feeling like the girl that cried wolf in labor and delivery.
  • ^^^^ I for sure understand. Your history though totally negates you being 'that' girl :) no worries
  • @mellymar I told my doctor about it in my last visit because I still had to go to PT every morning and I could barley walk! So I went ahead and told them the pain is so bad there's NO way I'm doing PT...screw that. I'll wobble my ass around my neighborhood when I don't feel pain.
  • @Zeuskay01 @klkonwi yeah I'm actually kind of pissed my sister and all the other previously pregnant women I know did not warn me! Especially my sister! Once I got to the 3rd trimester, you'd think she would have said something along the lines of 'oh, btw, your vagina is going to hurt like a mother. I mean, like a big mother. Not just for birth. Before that. For a ways.'

I did this this evening and decided to go in since it is my due date. No change at all so they sent me home. Before leaving, I was informed for the first time that they don't usually induce til 41 weeks. I have a feeling i'll be begging at my appointment tomorrow because I can't walk without help and these contractions haven't been picking up on the monitors but the nurses don't believe me.

What makes things worse is DH had to start his leave earlier than expected last week when I collapsed in pain, so I feel super guilty. We don't really have the option of him taking a lot more time off right now because they had to bring people from out of state to fill in. This is super stressful.
