Newbie Introduction

Hi everyone!  I'm excited to finally get to introduce myself as I've been stalking you all for some time :)

My name is Amber. I'm 26.  My husband and I have been trying to have a child for the last 2 years with no luck.  My story is below if you'd like to read :)  It's a little long so if you don't, then no worries.  Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi!  I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

I was unofficially diagnosed with PCOS at age 19 (though not formally until 23) after complaining to my doctor about a history of infrequent periods- some 10 months apart or more.  I have always had facial hair and acne as well, though I am a normal weight woman and wear a size 8/10 US.  I do carry weight mostly around my middle, though.

At 23 I had a weird feeling that something wasn't right with me.  Just a weird nagging feeling so I went to an RE.  He took some biopsies of the lining of my uterus (worst pain I've ever felt!) and diagnosed that I had endometrial hyperplasia.  It was only the pre-cancerous kind but he was concerned because of my age.  Said he'd only ever seen one other woman my age with that problem.  #bummer.  So anyway, he flushed me out with some provera and sent me on my way.  He did tell me that he thought I should start trying immediately if I ever wanted to have children.  I was in shock.  I was NOT ready to be a mom at that time, had always envisioned being closer to 30 and my clock was not ticking.

Flash forward to 2013 where I, at the tender age of 24, decided I'd like to start trying because I did want to have a child and now was as good a time as any.  We had moved back to the city I'm from and I was seeing my regular gynecologist.  We did 4 clomid cycles, two in which I ovulated, but no dice.  We did not conceive on any of the rounds.

At that point, she recommended I go see an RE.  So we went in early 2014 to our RE who I really like and they ran all the tests.  The hyperplasia was back, and ovarian cysts were plentiful as well as some uterine fibroid tumors but all tubes were open and everything else checked out.  I had a mondo cyst from the last Clomid cycle that we had to wait out for a couple months.

We were told our treatment options were more limited because of the uterine problems.  They sent me for a surgery to remove everything (similar to a D&C) and then they wanted to immediately begin in vitro.  That's where I couldn't handle things anymore.  In vitro was going to cost so much that I did not have, emotionally and financially.  I just couldn't take it.

After my surgery, I met with an oncologist for him to clear me for in vitro.  He checked everything out and said to me that what I had wasn't "real cancer" and that he wasn't worried about it until it got worse.  He was a jerk, but from him I gleaned that he saw no problem in me going off birth control and trying naturally for another few years.  So that's what I decided to do.

Since then, we spent about 6 months not really trying but not preventing.  I've been eating a mostly paleo diet which has always worked best for me since I am gluten and dairy intolerant.  My cycles are beginning to regulate more and now hover around 50 days.

I had a weird month this month where fertility friend said I ovulated.  Then came CD 16 and I took a pregnancy test.  Negative.  Then my temps started dropping but no period.  And now FF has reassessed and says I didn't actually ovulate.  So here I am, disappointed, sad, and wondering if this will ever happen for me.  I'm sure many of you are in the same boat.

Thanks for reading my story!  Hope to connect with you soon!
