I'm being induced tomorrow and I've caught my daughters cold. I know passing on the antibodies when bf will be great for baby but I don't want to labor sneezing and blowing my nose :( Just the thought of tomorrow being go day is stressing me out. I feel like so much needs to be done I just don't know what what IT is. I'm ready but then again I'm just not.

That sucks, but the day is FINALLY here!!! YAY!
  • Wishing the best of luck to all of you being induced soon! You can do it!

I think this is a really dumb thing to ask about but my curiosity is going to make me ask anyway... To anyone who has already gone through labor: Did you notice that after each contraction you would pass a lot of mucus? Stuff that looks like if you blew your nose when you're sick except sometimes it has pink in it?
  • Incredibly exhausted today, despite sleeping ok last night. And not quite a symptom although stabby seems to be a theme today so I will say if my mom calls me one more time to tell me when the baby "can" come, I'm gonna flip. She keeps making appointments and then calling to tell me to tell the baby to wait longer. No, mom, your hair will have to wait a week or two to get cut, the baby isn't waiting for anyone!!!!

My mom is also driving me crazy.  She keeps calling to ask what the doctor thinks about when the baby will come (due to my sister's wedding being this weekend, as i mentioned in my previous post).  THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN MOM.  This is made all the worse because, with me, she literally went to the doctor at 4pm one day, they told her "you're not even close, you have at least another week," and then her water broke, in bed, the next morning.  SHE SHOULD KNOW HOW THIS WORKS.  Also, it's hard enough on me knowing i might not make it to my only sister's wedding...i don't need to be harassed about things i can't control.  LAY OFF.

Also, i think she complained to MIL about me "never telling her anything" because the last time DH called MIL to give her the update from the doctor, she said some things that made him believe that my mom feels left out somehow?  Which was also annoying.  i talk to my mom once a week and tell her whatever the doctor tells me.  i don't know what else i can do here.  i knw she feels bad and left out because she lives far away, but she needs to settle down.  Preferably before she comes down for the "two weeks" she's planning to after the baby is born.

  • Had an nst today and apparently I am having a good bit on contractions. I don't feel them which I guess is good, but it helps to have a high pain tolerance. Hopefully this means he will be making his appearance soon because his little attitude with me resting my arms on the top of belly is getting bad.
Still having horrible heartburn and living out of a bathtub. I try to walk 3 miles everyday and so far so good.
  • Contractions for two days but after about 2 - 4 hours they go away..... joy.  I wanted her out so bad before but now my daughter has such a busy last week of school so I wanted her to stay in now.  lol

  • My symptom is over planning! Ok seriously though. I have a question and if I wait until FFFQ I will have forgotten by then. I keep reading that with a c section you can only go up and down the stairs one time a day. I've had a c/s before, but lived in a one story. My question is this: does anyone know how long that limitation lasts? I plan to ask my dr at my appointment...but planning. And over planning!! Thanks in advance!

I've had two previous sections and lived in a two story last section. I actually had a couch that folded out into a bed and I stayed on the first story. Although my shower was upstairs, I only went up once a day and had help. My doctor never mentioned not being able to go up stairs, just said to limit physical activity that was straining. I would think as long as you weren't carrying anything and went at your own pace, you would be ok. My advice is do NOT think just because you have pain meds and activity doesn't hurt right then, that it's ok to increase movement and resume life as before. It's very easy to hurt yourself even worse while on meds because you can't feel the damage you're doing until they wear off. That's when the hurt sets in. Always be careful!!
  • Thanks @SammeMotley! Now I can just plan what I need to keep downstairs with me. I remember not taking anything stronger than Advil last time, but it was about 4-5 days before I could do anything with confidence chore wise. But that was nine years ago now and, um...being older is definitely noticeable. :)
  • Well I feel for you @poppy1099 because honestly I wouldn't have made it without Percocet and I'm sure not trying this time around!!
  • Does anyone else get a really sore tail bone?? I swear it feels like someone is hammering on it every time I sit or stand :(
  • Went to the dr today due to extremely low fetal movement. Baby is perfect, must be sleepy from the weekend. I was finally checked (39w + 3d) and found out I'm in prodromal labor, my cervix is still closed, and the head just does not want to stay engaged. Lovely! She told me to just ignore the contractions and she'll see me on Friday, my EDD. Team green so my DH seems to think its a girl; late and stubborn. I explained to him that I am never late and the baby isn't die for another few days, technically not late. FRUSTRATED! How the heck do you "just ignore the contractions"?!
  • everything just sucks lately. DH and i arent doing so well, he started smoking again and i just hit 37 weeks yesterday so i feel even more stressed than normal. like im going to go into labour while he is at work while we're fighting and im not going to know who to call to take me to the hospital. with all these issues lately im just really 2nd guessing getting pregnant and im almost starting to feel like it was a mistake. i really hope its just horomones.
i just feel like crying all the time.
  • These random, sporadic contractions are not doing my back any favors. Can a pregnant gal get a break?? Ouch. :-(

Time for a bubble bath and ice chips. Keeping legs crossed tonight.

@Westypet try sitting on an exercise ball.... It helps with those annoying contractions and it just feels good!

@dancegurl1118 I do have some great nurses/coworkers on when I am scheduled for my induction. My two closest coworkers and friends aren't on those days and they are both in nurse midwive school full time and work full time so I don't want to bother them ! I just worry that since family is so far away....... That if anything goes wrong my support is so far. Probably everything will be fine....! Just nervous

    You're going to be fine! You're a champ. :-)
  • @JessHeppell I was fighting with DH too. It just makes everything worse and I don't have the energy to fight. I feel you. I'm 37 weeks too. I was morbidly fantasizing about not telling him I was in labor and having the baby without him there to punish him. Though his dream would be to be back in Mad Men days smoking in the waiting room.

I'm sure you guys will talk and smooth things out. It's a stressful time and it's hard to be at our best.
  • My belly has been Rock hard all day , with back pain? Has anyone experienced this? Haven't felt baby move, my dr is not in her office until tomorrow so I coukfnt call her
  • So back pain and either the worst stomachache ever or I can't tell a contraction from a hole in my head.......
Why can I feel other ppl and know but on myself it's hard. Can't tell if I overdid it today and am contracting or if I'm just crazy.....
I guess I'll just wait them out and see if the pain gets any worse.

Got to L&D at 3am for my induction. I'm hooked up to antibiotics and pitocin. Was having contractions that I couldn't really feel every 5 min when I got here. Now they are every 2-5 min and starting to get much more intense. DH fell asleep as soon as the nurse left the room.....and he's snoring....and I can't even lay comfortably anymore. I'm really tempted to throw something at him and make him stay awake with me :-?

Oh husbands ... They just don't get it do they? I had such a hard time getting comfortable... In fact when I finally did my water broke and then everything happened pretty fast! It's amazing what your body can do when it is relaxed!

Don't feel bad about having him wake up with you... I don't think he will at all mind given the circumstances! Good luck!
