Echogenic heart?

Hi all, I had my anatomy ultrasound last week (21 weeks) and although everything was fine they told me the baby's heart looks echogenic and referred me to a high risk doctor to perform an ultrasound of the heart. The high risk doctor was not sure exactly what was happening and referred me to one of the best pediatric cardiologist in the nation. After speaking to the cardiologist he himself could not tell me anything sure. He said that there is thickening of the heart which could be possibly due to an infection (pericarditis) or it could be another handful of things. He did say that it could get worse or it could stay the same. He recommended an amnio which I did yesterday to rule out many other things. My husband and I are really concerned and dont know what to think or do. If its pericarditis its scary to think the infection could have had some affect on his brain (although everything scanned ok) Anyone had any similar heart problems?
