I am almost 23w pregnant. I've been feeding a stray cat for about 2 weeks, never any physical contact. Yesterday he rubbed against me and I pet his back. Immediately washed hands after. Now I'm paranoid something could have been transmitted. Thoughts?

It seems very unlikely.  Did the cat show signs of being sick?

I am 22 weeks and on Friday came down with severe flu-like symptoms 2 weeks after we adopted a kitten and I had been changing the kitty litter.  I was tested previously for toxoplasmosis before and have never contracted it, which means if I contract it for the first time while pregnant, it could affect the baby.  I'm going in for a lab today to be tested.

If you're still concerned, call your OB and see what they recommend.  That's what I did.

Definitely unlikely. I live with two cats. Husband changes litter boxes. I tested negative and I live with them. I think you're fine!

Toxoplasmosis is only spread through the feces of an animal. So as long as you ain't playing or touching their poop or breathing in litter dust while cleaning a cat box. It is unlikely for you to get it.
