So we are going with a hickory colored crib. The eco chic from babies r us. What do you think would match better with that, white or an espresso color?
I don't like mixing different wood tones on furniture in the same room, so I would go with white, unless there is a coordinating dresser that goes with it and matches that wood tone.
In our nursery, we have some furniture that is wood and some that is natural pine. I prefer any other furniture that goes in there to be white, unless I can match the natural pine.
I love mixing paints and finishes! In our nursery we have a mid-range brown, espresso and white furniture and it looks great together. Dh is in the furniture business though so he knows what he is doing. None of our furniture is matchy matchy and nowhere in the showroom is it matchy matchy either. Designers don't go for uniform looks anymore. What colors will the walls be? If they will be dark, go with espresso, if they will be light, go with white. Bonus is that you can always paint it another color down the road to bring new life in to it
I don't like mixing wood colors either! And yes that is the crib! They only have it in that color and an almost black color which I don't like but we are in love with this crib. I was thinking white too. We are leaning towards a seafoam green color for the walls. Closet door, window, and wood word will be white. I'm having such a hard time with this! We are getting one of the matching dressers with the crib but need a changing table and I want to get a storage compartment thing for more space. I'll add a pic to show what I mean!
With sea foam green walls go white with the changing table. The other option is to just use your dresser as the changing table and skip the stand alone one.
