Paint colors

Re: Paint colors

  • We will be trying our fourth shade of grey this weekend! I am going insane.  Each one looks too blue.  I'm at the point where I will just deal and hope the accents (mint green and lavender) will look ok with it.  He's worried our daughter will think we wanted a boy.  :-/

  • I'm a super colourful person and went with a bright green for my garden themed nursery (naming her Eden) but they messed up mixing paint can 2 and thanks to baby brain I didn't notice until things still weren't looking right after coat 4... Went back to store and did get a free can but turns out it matched the first not second can so it took me 5 freakin coats and touch ups to paint the walls. Really happy with the end result but now have to work up the motivation to face painting the trim...
  • We went with an aqua color for our baby girl and I love it!

  • @ssmith2006 we did aqua for our baby girls nursery too and we plan to accent with coral. I really struggled with it because I wanted something girly, but I'm not really into pink decor. I wanted to do grey walls in the nursery but our entire downstairs is grey so I didn't want to go overboard with it!
  • Pick out several different shades you like and put a sample of each on the wall next to eachother. Seeing them in the room with the lighting will make it obvious which one is best for the room!
  • We picked the fabric we wanted for roman shades and went with a pink that was in that fabric. My husband is super technical with stuff like that so he pulled the RBG values from the fabric and they matched it with paint! It was so much easier that way! Before we decided to do that, we made countless trips to sherwin Williams and lowes and grabbed tons of samples!
  • I'm team green and I can't decide what would look better.. Doing woodland forest themed and can either do pastel blue with pastel yellow, or a pastel green. Painting trees on the wall, also
  • I thought I was going to do a grey nursery with yellow and aqua accents, but oddly enough, sticking to a grey theme overwhelmed me. I decided instead to go with a very light yellow on the walls, and my new theme is cheerful colors. My baby shower was tie dye themed, and the hostess chose/made her decorations so that they could be reused as nursery decorations (she knows me so well!).

  • Wow lots of grey going on lol.

I originally said we didn't know about painting since the house is for sale but not a single person has looked at it (it's been over two months), and we've debated about taking it off the market. So anyway we talked about painting the nursery a really pale green. There's other shades of green as well as pink in there too. Kind of a garden theme, with little bits of Alice in Wonderland tied in.
