Im not sure what it is but everytime I been pregnant I start a project in our house..I kinda have two at the same time though! I need to finish up baby's room and I started demo on our main bathroom. Hopefully, I can pull the bathroom together within two weeks here because my daughters birthday party is on the 13th. Don't know what I was thinking but I couldn't look at it anymore!

Anyone else working on anything?

I am a mess with projects right now. My biggest is just getting our dang house organized. We've lived here for almost three years, but I still don't have a place for everything and it still feels like some college kids put it all together!

So many knitting projects for baby! I have a blanket, a sweater, booties, mitts, and a hat... None of which are fully finished... Whenever I find a new pattern I HAVE to get started right away! DH is getting mildly annoyed. Hopefully I finish by the time baby is here!

We remodeled both our bathrooms while I was on maturity leave with DS. So wish we had done it before he was born, it is impossible to get a baby to sleep with contractors working.

Nesting! Ugh, I love it. We're putting a lot of thought into the nursery.. Picking up vintage pieces, buying random artwork, painting. It's so fun!

We are still renovating the house we bought in December. We moved in mid-April when it became "livable". Ugh I am dreading not being done when the twins are born.

We've got a few projects, a new fence, finishing our entire basement, redoing the nursery and redoing the spare room as my second sons room! Plus I'd really like to paint some of the rooms in our house. Busy busy!

Gotta love nesting. Most of my projects are outside. We just finished our raised garden beds and they're beautiful. I'm sure we will start a new project soon on top of starting nursery #2.

I have a long list of projects for my DH.
we have started working on the nursery, we got paint samples last week and chose a color. I can't wait to see it all done

I'm finally at the tail end of it, but we were fixing up all of our bedrooms (moved into new house last year). Paint, new windows, etc. just got back into my own room last night, and carpets come in 2 weeks.

Passing on my discovery from this whole thing - if you're trying to save money right at the beginning and fully decorating nursery later but need blackout shades, I found temporary paper blackout shades at Home Depot for $6, and they work like a charm!!! They just stick to your window frame.

With my first, decorating our first house was my project. With DD 2, my project was the nursery and it will be with this one as well. Only this time, I'm moving DD 2 into DD 1's room and re-doing that nursery for a boy.

Nesting tends to hit me a little later.  I'm really hoping that it coincides with when I move so I will have the energy to pack and the neurotic tendencies that thorough organization of a new house requires. 

I had no money for projects or upgrades to my home last time so I just cleaned.  I vacuumed, mopped and swept the entire house (including moving the furniture to get underneath) nightly and scrubbed the bathtub every other night for about 3 months.  I even swept and mopped the nursery nightly despite the fact that the only one going in and out of it was me when I cleaned it.  I realize now I was kind of insane.

Haha sounds like my MIL They have a 2 full bath house, but DH and his brother had to shower in the master bath so she didn't have to clean the other one as much. Even to this day, when we visit, I have to shower in my ILs bathroom. They have a pristine 1985 tub/shower in the hall bath. Not sure for who. I guess for when the Queen comes to stay... She's the cleanest person I've ever met. Type type that will clear your plate and wipe your place before you're even done eating

Lol.  That type of crazy only happens when I'm about 6 or 7 months pregnant.  I'm fairly normal, maybe even a bit sloppy otherwise.

We are in the middle of a house remodel.  We just finished one bathroom and have started the hallway upstairs.  Hubs is painting the walls and getting ready to lay down new flooring.  Once he's done, he's going to be building a smoker for work and then we start on little mans room.  Luckily that's just 1 wall to paint and my craft stuff to move out.

We are hoping to finish our basement. Our guest room is becoming the nursery so we need the space. Also, our families both live out of town and we'd rather not have them crashing on our couch. I would love to get the nesting bug for the duration of my pregnancy. Imagine all the things that could be accomplished

I have so many paintings that need hanging. I collect them more than I actually hang them. #arthoarder

I hope the nesting bug and/or any amount of energy hits me soon. We still have boxes everywhere from our move and they're driving me nuts but I have no desire to deal with them. I'm jealous of you all!

@anikajoy  I too have been up to my ears in knitting projects. I love that everything is so small, because it means that I can finish projects twice as quickly as usual.

There needs to be a study done on how pregnancy hormones release the inner DYI'er in women (and I mean way beyond nesting).  Every pregnant woman I know/have known is in the middle of a major move, renovation or project.  Mine is that we decided to completely renovate our second story, turning our 4 bdrm/2 bath house into a 2bdrm/1tiny bath.  There is no way it will be done completely by November, so I have no clue where we are going to put my parents who I hope will come to help with toddler and new LO.  Oh yes, and the reno has completely messed up the AC flow, so it's a million degrees up there.  Isn't that what most medical professionals recommend for pregnant women: heavy lifting and questionable old house materials in 100 degree weather?

I wish! I wanted one so bad but the cost to install them correctly is so much. We did new tiger bamboo flooring in the kitchen/living, refinished the existing oak floors in the bedrooms, new cherry cabinets, hi-macs solid surface counters, 5 new windows (damaged had to for loan), new bathroom, new entryway tile (still have rear to do) and built a master en-suite out of a powder room and moving some walls. We got a 203k streamlined loan for our house and used that to do the repairs. We are still finishing the master bath and the rear entry but those didn't have to be done because they weren't part of our loan.

We're planning on finishing our garage so that my husband can move his office out there (he works from home), so that we in turn can have both a guest room and a nursery. However, we both just keep talking about it and not doing anything so we'll see if that ever happens! I was recently given a sewing machine and want to learn to sew--if only to make cute little onesies for our baby bird, but I'm so intimidated by it, I just keep looking at it in the box

When I was pregnant with my son we renovated the entire main floor of our house. My husband literally moved the furniture back in the day I was in labor! I really want to redo our basement right now (it's unfinished and that's where the the laundry is so I spend far more time down there than I would like) but not sure I want to get into another major reno while pregnant. We'll see...

I'm addicted to HGTV but I still don't think I'd want to take on so much work!

We had a contractor do the flooring and kitchen and my dad (contractor) came out and helped with the bathrooms. It was the only way we could get a nice home in our price point. We snagged our place for $94,000 it's 1500 sq ft, 3 bed ,1 1/2 bath sitting on a 1/2 acre in a midwest city (pop over 250,000). We got the reno loan under the 203k for $18,500. We put in about $7,000 out of pocket so far. To have anything remotely close would've cost us $150,000 minimum and been a lot less land. It was a matter of the financials working but the sweat equity is really killing us!

YES! Absolutely this ^^ We're pushing year three in the, and I've been going through rooms just tossing out things we haven't used or frankly have seen the light of day since we've moved in. It's obnoxious work, but if it doesn't get done now, when will it? Keep up the good work!

My DH is outside right now putting gutters under our deck so we can use part of it as a shed. We have contractors putting in a patio and then we have a ton of landscaping to do. Hopefully we will finish this weekend bc he is a golf course superintendent so it is his busy season. We won't really see him much until fall when we have to move all the kiddos around to add in the nursery. So much work but so fun!!

Agreed. I am planning on sitting down and finishing all of my mostly-done projects inn Sunday.

We've been renovating our home for a while now. We moved in last August after making it habitable, but our house is very old (built in 1792) and it was too much for the previous owner to take care of so it fell into disrepair so we have a lot to catch up on. Most of the living spaces are done, or close to. I finished painting the bathroom last week, though DH atill needs to rehang the door (dont ask) and install the shower head. Next I'm skim coating and painting the living room. We also need electrical work done to replace some light fixtures and put in a circuit for the new washer and dryer, which have been sitting unused for nearly a year... I'd love to be able to get the windows replaced before winter too, but I don't think our budget could handle that especially as DH is determined we need the most expensive option of wood framed divided light 12-over-12 sash windows to be in keeping with the rest of the house, whereas I'd be happy with something that the panes of glass didn't fall out of...
Also I plan to make bedding, a mei tai carrier, and a diaper bag. Because I'm insane, apparently.
