What I wish someone prepared me for

i gave birth to my daughter on April 25th, FTM. I researched new topics everyday of my pregnancy because I wanted to be prepared and as knowledgable as possible before going into labor. There is one thing that I wish someone had prepared me for. I just wish that it was on a website, in this blog, somewhere or anywhere in the places I researched just so I could've had it in the back of my mind. I am talking about babies coming out purple. The scariest moment of my life was when my Dr put my daughter on me after being delivered seconds prior. She was purple! I almost fainted on the table, my heart rate and blood pressure dropped, and I went into a full blown anxiety attack on the table thinking the absolute worst! Talk about scary!!! I hope that this post will at least give other moms the warning that this could possibly happen but that your baby is perfectly fine! I want to prevent others from going through the horrifying experience that I had, because I believe knowledge is power!

Yep, it can be scary.

That part can be pretty scary if you never knew it was coming. I was lucky to see all my nieces and nephews so close to their birth that I knew it could happen.

Thanks for the heads up. I knew this, but my husband did not. It's helpful info to pass along to FTM and FTD. Thanks for bringing it up!

This was covered in my prenatal classes. When DS was put on me, in a panic I asked why he was purple. DH gently reminded me that it was normal, remember Diane (nurse who taught the class) told us this would happen. I think even if you're prepared, it's still scary.
