hemmheroid question

Obviously this is TMI but I have my first hemmheroid in my life! First I was in denial and now there is no denying it! Does anyone have any home remedies that will help with the symptoms?! I never had gotten any with DS! This little girl has been nothing but problems through the whole pregnancy, I hope it's not a glimpse of what's to come! Ugh! Help please!

Try not to sit down as much as possible, that will help some. Lay on your side instead of sitting.

It's pretty common later in pregnancy. I have a really mild one. I just keep it really clean with witch-hazel, especially after a bowel movement. Be sure to get plenty of fiber in your diet cause you don't want to be straining on the toilet, hopefully "poop time" comes quick and efficiently, otherwise it can make it worse. Just keep it clean, that's important. They usually take care of themselves, if not, maybe you can get a mild over the counter ointment but of course talk to your OB first.
My Mom is a gastroenterologist, we aren't afraid to talk about this s**t!

Get some preparation H - my obgyn says to use that... They also have wipes... EVERYONE (even if they won't admit to it) gets them it's quite common. Totally unpleasant... They do go away after a few days of cream. Good luck

@ker72 ^if you are referring to a hemorrhoid (and not hemmheroid-sorry OP just a little nonsense snark in our part) not EVERYONE gets them. Although very normal to get them while pregnant, it would be very inaccurate to say EVERYONE gets them. It's still the majority of pregnant population will be lucky to do without. We always recommend tucks pads, and I would stock up for after delivery if you have them already.

Yes, and @ker72, they don't always go away, cream or not - that's why there is such a thing as hemorrhoid surgery. I'm sure they usually go away, but you definitely can't count on it. @HayesRN13, is there actually any reason to use Tucks over just witch hazel on a cotton pad? And finally, @kelseygaona, earlier in our pregnancy a woman was swearing by raw garlic to help with hemorrhoids. If you want to try that maybe search "garlic + hemorrhoid" either here or on the google. GL!
