Baby Beats App on iphone

Re: Baby Beats App on iphone

  • I know that's what it's registering, but I don't think your baby's heartbeat is actually only in the 130s, that's really low for 10 weeks! When I use my sonoline doppler and find the HB it SAYS it's in the 130s but when I count the beats (I count them for 10 seconds then multiply by 6) it's actually over 160. I know every baby is different but it should still be in the 150s-160s at this stage.

Just to be clear I'm not saying I think your baby's HB is low, I'm saying I think it's not able to count every beat so it's giving you a low reading, even though you are finding the heartbeat. I never trust the number on my doppler because I can tell it isn't accurate. Finding the heartbeat at home is so exciting, but try counting the beats to get an accurate reading.

Actually when pregnant with my son his heartbeat was between 130-150 the entire way through my pregnancy and he's a healthy little 5 year old boy today!

  • So glad a lot of you are getting it to work!!! It may not be 100% accurate but I do think it is finding the baby's heartbeat. For $5 it's a lot of fun!! It does give me some sense of relief.

  • Worth every penny! As I continued to play every so often throughout the evening:

I remember reading on one of the weekly updates that the baby would move if belly was poked. I obviously haven't felt this yet, but I "followed" him/her while getting the heartbeat. I was just envisioning, "Moooom! I'm trying to sleep in here!" Literally I'd push in to get it (through a layer of fat lol) the rate would appear for a few seconds then go away. I'd move over a bit and there it was. This kept happening for like 5 minutes. I was cracking up.

Now to resist the urge to do it during breaks at work. "Why does she keep lifting her shirt and pushing her phone into her stomach?!" 8->

@mtwonhespes at my last pregnancy's nuchal they kept moving the wand on my belly and the baby would move all over the place. so fun.
  • We go Friday and obviously I can't wait!!!
  • I can't find on the app where it shows the BPM.
  • Search "baby heartbeats" and it was the third one down for me. Pic:

The same thing was happening to me. Haha so funny. Already trying to run away from mommy.
  • Mine was registering 80 bpm (which a lot of moms have the same heart rate--ironic) and then it picked up other "beats" averaging 120-147. Just seems low considering ive heard baby's heart heartbeat 2x and its been around 160 (I'm 14 weeks now) at the OB. I'm more disappointed than satisfied with this app. I should have bought an icecream!
  • Worked for me my heart rate so much slower than babes, did it on my partner too he thought it was just weird.

So I was a sucker and bought this app last night. I found what could maybe be the heart rate at 151 but who knows! I tried again this morning and found it again same number. ... If it works cool but at least it was only 5. I must not do this often! And thanks Boston for the info to put the phone in airplane made- the app didn't mention it as far as I could tell but I did it since I read it here. :)

So I bought the app and I was super excited because my hear rate was in the 80's and then when I put it on my belly I got in the 130's.  Well then I asked my husband to do it on him and he had the same results, which makes me think that this app is either picking up something else in our stomachs or our own hear rate.  It is a little weird that the number was higher when I was looking for the babies but when it did the same thing on my husbands I know it can't be working right.
  • I was picking up heart beats from anywhere between 78-147. However, when I went to the doctor today, he was unable to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler. He said mine was too loud to hear baby's. So, we had to do an ultrasound instead. All was well. It made me wonder how my phone could find a heartbeat but the Doppler couldn't. There's no way. I wonder if the phone/app is picking up something else, not baby's heart beat??? Interesting...
  • My own hb and stomachs were all over the place varying from 79-140. I'm sure it will be cool later in pregnancy, but may be too early. :(

Ok....just tried this on my husband because I was curious and his belly had a higher rate than mine with a baby in it!! Now I'm wondering if the app is a scam.

I don't think so but because it's not meant to be used until after 30 weeks, I would imagine that it's not very reliable. It's probably picking up his heartbeat and as PP's have mentioned., It's not very accurate.
