Twins- who else is pulling double duty?

Just wondering who else is carting around two beans.
Identical?
How have they been growing? Pretty on pace with each other?
Have you had severe symptoms at all?

We have fraternal, hoping for one of each since it was so much money and work to get to this point. They've been growing on pace with each other so far. We've already had 5 u/s due to 2 SCHs and have another appt Monday for a 9w2d look, praying for strong heartbeats again.
I was a little worried about more severe symptoms but I am mostly just tired and feeling hungover with a lot of trouble sitting up properly, Dr says it's from multiple sacs moving everything around.

  • 12 weeks with twins here! I have my third ultrasound on Monday. We had one at 6 weeks and one at 8 weeks...saw and heard two strong heartbeats. One was measuring a couple days behind the other but doc said thats normal. I will feel so much relief after monday and i see both have grown. I have had slight nausea but no puking...just very tired and sore boobs...which actually both have gotten better now. I wish you the best of luck x2!

  • So happy you're not having major symptoms! I was getting a little worry crazy with my lack of symptoms, which I know is illogical but mine seem to be just like yours.
    Good luck Monday!

10wks with fraternal twins!!! Hoping also for one of each! I started gushing blood last Saturday and I was freaking out! I spoke to the on call doc and due to no symptoms and the blood fading away doc said to be off feet and rest as much as I can. If I were having an actual miscarriage there is nothing they can do to save the baby (had 2 miscarriages already so I knew this already). Went in on Tuesday for Ultrasound babies are both perfectly fine THANK GOD!!!! But there was an explanation for the blood is called:

Subchorionic Hematoma which is a gathering of blood between the membranes of the placenta and the uterus. A more technical name is the chorion. Some doctors will also just refer to it as a blood clot.

So I have to be on bed rest, no sex, no working out, no lifting etc... which sucks for me since I am such an active person. But at the end it will be worth it :) oh and I haven't had no morning sickness at all. I didn't either with my daughter.

Hope we all have healthy awesome December babies !!!!
  • @bibi_2, you're not alone! I've had two already which were terrifying after having 2 m/cs. I was on and off bed rest for two weeks. Still taking it very easy until told otherwise. This pregnancy biz is no joke! I thought it'd only been a big pain in the 3rd trimester.

@CHANGETHISNAME000000 Oh man!!! Yes, very terrifying and totally agree this pregnancy biz is no joke lol!!! I don't even want to think of the 3rd trimester yet lol
  • Twins on board here!! I am 9 weeks 4 days and I have had 2 ultrasounds (5wks and 7wks) and I go back in the 10th for my third :). The last ultrasound we saw the flickering heartbeats on the monitor and everyone was measuring properly.

I haven't thrown up but I get hit with nauseau from the time I wake up till I go to bed and I have to eat every 2 hrs or else the beast within emerges. It started at week 6 exactly.

I am a FTM and super excited and sort of nervous about growing so big. Whatever you do DO NOT Google "twins pregnancy belly" it is a traumatizing experience. LOL

Fraternal... Hope we have one of each or two girls :)

They're growing perfect and at the same rate as the other.

Had bleeding @ 7w3d was scheduled for first appointment at 8w but they had me go in. Did bloodwork and ultrasound and tada! TWINS! Was put on pelvic rest for 3 weeks and told to take it easy. Have seen them at @7w3d, 8w, 10w. I go back at 14w. No morning sickness either.

  • Just found out we are having twins at our nucal cord ultrasound 12 weeks 5/7!!! They missed our second baby at the 8 week scan even though my husband asked if another one was hidding cause he "knew" we were having twins!! Have had very mild symptoms so far!

Baby B is also measuring a couple days bigger than A. We could not be happier today after hearing the biggest surprise of our lives!!!
  • I am 11 weeks with identical twins. We have a 15 month old boy so kind of hoping for girls since my husband may make us stop after this, lol. We are so excited though! Just had a sonogram yesterday and the babies were really rocking out in there. I don't think my son moved around that much my entire pregnancy. Going to be a very different experience, I think. ☺
  • I am 11 weeks with twins as well! Separate sacks and two placentas :) I've heard that you can't know for sure if they are identical or fraternal yet but seems to me they are fraternal...mothers intuition. We are hoping for boy and girl as well. I have had awful awful all day morning sickness and now take diclegis. Can't wait for this to pass! I love laying on my back with my bladder is full because I can feel my hard bump. Other than that I just look like I've been eating too much!
  • Congrats to every one with twins!! I have 1 1/2 year old twin boys and having my third this time a singleton. If anyone needs advise please don't hesitate to ask. Twins are so much fun since they Are each other's entertainment. The first few months were rough with no sleep but worth it after.
  • So exciting for everyone!
@leeleepi, I didn't even think of googling what my belly would look like! Now I can't stop thinking about it.
We've also been very cautious how much we think about there being 2. We've had a lot of struggles and lost identical twins with the last pregnancy and have had bleeding issues this time around. Our doctor told us to stay hopeful and that we could lose one but not the other but was confident we'd have both come out healthy.
Who has everyone told about their pregnancy?
Since we've done ivf, our parents and siblings know we are pregnant but only my mother knows for sure there are two. My brother has asked out of the blue if there's two but we shut him down on that pretty quickly. Hopefully, the both remain sticky and we can still somewhat surprise everyone when we announce twins.
@Jazmine928, I didn't realize you couldn't tell necessarily. With our identical it was pretty clear and with these, our Dr said both of our embryos took. I guess I'll have to ask her how she knows. Maybe the identical can take awhile to fully split from each other and we had super early scans? Very interesting.

  • Maybe! If you did IVF I would think they are most likely fraternal right? Best of luck to you!! Keep thinking positive :) that's what I'm trying to do!

  • First time pregnancy with twins! :) natural occurrence too and no multiples in the family so I make a lot of nurses say Wow! I'm 13 weeks and it all feels so surreal! I had my first trimester screening last week which was fun (close to 3 hours on a table watching the babies wiggle while they try to look at their nasal bone and the fluid at the back of their neck) at 3 hours I told them to stop moving and the Maternal Fetal Doctor laughed and said now you feel my pain, you got some troublemakers. I never realized how quickly this feels to be going because I feel like I'm seeing a Doctor every week!

We are excited and nervous at the same time :)
(Now I'm debating whether to google bellies...)
  • Im 10 weeks 5 days with Fraternal Twins!

Last ultra sound was at 7 weeks and one was measuring a day behind.

Having a lot of nausea and extremely tired!!!
Hoping for a boy and a girl!!!!

Ha! I totally googled bellies. It was kind of scary, but I guess the nice thing is that it doesn't happen overnight.  #:-S

I'm 12w3d with identical twins. They share a placenta so there's the risk for Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, but so far they are both measuring the same  :)

DH and I both have twins in our families, so it didn't come as a complete surprise, but we definitely didn't think it would happen to us. We are excited, but scared at the same time :-SS It should be fun adventure.

  • I am 12w 4d had my 12 weeks appt yesterday and one is measuring right on schedule the other is one day behind. Fraternal twins and they made sure 2 sacs and 2 placentas so far all is good. I did not get the morning sickness at all, I was hungry like I have never been before all the time. Tired all the time, I felt like all I could do was sleep. Its getting a little better now in the last 2 days. Now I get headaches everyday. Dr said that should ease off soon. Hope all is well with everyone
