A million "guess the sex of my baby" threads started daily. I've refrained from commenting, because I understand that people are excited, but seriously?!
I tend to be a bit of a care bear and try to be as nice as possible in my comments. I honestly like helping and giving advice to moms especially first timers because I remember being completely naive about the details of pregnancy and scared of motherhood wishing I had someone to turn to with my questions. That said, holy shit some people make me shake my head so hard.
A) An online forum should NOT be your only source of information on pregnancy. If you've got a question google doesn't seem to answer or you've got follow up or want advice from BTDT's fine, but "Is throwing up normal in pregnancy?" is not something that should need to be answered by an online forum. Hell, even Twilight (I've read the books and that was punishment enough, no need to call me out on it.) mentions it as a symptom of pregnancy!
To my knowledge there are no trained ultrasound techs on here. We don't know the sex of your baby. AND if the first 5 of these posts on the first page don't have positive responses NEITHER WILL YOURS. I don't recall if I ever posted mine (I think I may have) if I did I'm sorry. I did not realize how freaking annoying it is.
C) It is sex, not gender! Sex = biological Gender = sociocultural Period. I don't really care what your party is called, that does not warp language or reality into gender being the correct term for whether your child has a penis or a vagina.
I have no patience today.
Edit: Yay! I also found out I have gestational diabetes again. Fuck today so hard.

All of this. @VexyMommy , you are incredibly gracious in your responses while still saying what needs to be said - kudos! In addition, probably uo, but I cannot stand the cliffhanger titles for posts. If I can't tell what your thread is about based on the title, I will not open it to find out.
Me: 28, DH: 40 Married 9/28/13 DS born 11/12/15 EDD 8/13/18
I hated the rouching with my first but loved it with the rest of my pregnancies . I also buy second had maternity, e-bay, consignment shops, no way I am paying full price for them!! But I'm cheap...... I also tend to judge a book by its cover, if the title of the thread isn't interesting I don't click on it!
@VexyMommy you are always so sweet in your comments! I sometimes read them and think: "ooooh, THAT'S how you would respond to that nicely!" Sorry to hear about the gestational diabetes. That sucks!
Honestly I've never posted a topic yet because all you lovely ladies already have on the things I'm interested in, so there's no need to keep posting the same thing over and over. I enjoy reading them and just posting comments. It kind of is annoying when people don't check and post about something that's just been posted. Unless it's about a loss, which is totally different.
Confession- I'm not excited to go maternity clothes shopping. I know I need to go, but I need to save the money for the hospital bills and baby's needs! The goodwill and thrift stores nearby don't have a real maternity section at all so my plan to be super frugal is already failing.
My FFFC: Backstory: we are having to find a new home for my dog, who I've had for over 5 years. I'm really torn up about it, but she is very anxious and unhappy around small children, especially once daughter started crawling, and I know that she will be a lot happier in a new home. She is going to visit with her prospective home this weekend (is getting picked up within the hour) and hopefully they will think she is a good for for their home. Anyway, my SIL put up a post on the Facebook about how your pet is an extension of your family and there is no excuse to abandon it and she would rather have to live in a tent than give up her dogs!! Maybe this is more of a rant than a confession, sorry guys, but I just got SO MAD!!! I have a thousand responses in my head, but just didn't respond to it and shut off Facebook.
So, my confession: I hate it when people are totally oblivious to the feelings of others on Facebook!! (Bragging about how perfect and wonderful their life is, or how productive they are. / Stupid pointed accusation statuses without specifically calling out the person you're upset with, etc...)

Not sure where you're at with weight gain and bumpage, but going up a size or two (especially in maxi skirts and dresses) may help keep you in Goodwill clothing. Target also has 25% off maternity through the 31st if you have the cartwheel app. I am trying to do the same as far as keeping a frugal wardrobe budget.
I've also heard there are decent mommy swaps on FB, but that's something you'd need to research for your area.
so this borders an u/o possibly but I hate hate hate hate hate side ruching on maternity tops....
Yes! Does everything have to hug the bump so much? Draping, people!
Edit weird quote box issue I don't mind them later on when I have a bumb, but when it's just bloat I don't want anything hugging it! My mom and grandmother are still kind of shocked at how much bumb we show with tighter shirts. They come from generations where they were hidden or draped over. I have some shirts that are like that but they are pretty unflattering. It's hard finding a happy medium.
@thegingeravenger a lot of baby consignment shops have maternity to! I did eBay with my first because I needed long length for my jeans. Also craigslist or if you are on any FB for sale group sites if you post you are ISO of clothes you should get a good reply. I am happy this is my first summer pregnancy and I get to do gym shorts and dresses!!
I HATED draping! Love showing off my baby bump with fitted tops

My mom, too. I wore a nice shift dress to an event the other day, and she was like"that's so much better. You girls don't realize that you look so much nicer when all,the lumpy parts are covered!" Can't say I disagree with her.

Goodwill doesn't do maternity it's mixed in with the rest and impossible to find. But if you have a Ross they have affordable clothes. 12-20 for pants and shorts and shirts are 6-15. Which isn't as good as thrift but better than most maternity stores. I am also cheap when it comes to stuff me or my kids will wear for a short period of time.
I know it's been said, but my gosh I have to agree with the annoyance of the 'guess the sex/gender posts..' I don't open these posts because I feel it's no good for my temper.. This was my scan at 8 weeks, can anyone guess the sex?
Confession - I know a lot of women hate being asked if they are pregnant/when is the due date, etc. but I like it! I love being past the awkward phase where my clothes don't fit, but I don't look pregnant yet. Yes, I'm carrying a baby, I swear I do not walk around with my pants unbuttoned looking like I ate a really big lunch all the time. I'm sure I'll hate it post-pregnancy, but right now I enjoy it & love hearing the congratulations once I confirm that I am indeed pregnant.

This and the not being able to wait for the anatomy scan. And also thinking the anatomy scan is ONLY to determine the sex.

I haven't heard one person say "I can't wait until my anatomy scan so I can see that my baby is healthy!" Nope. All they care about is what's between the babies legs.

Girl for sure lol
I thought I could see boys parts? If you look really closely, tilt your head to the side, put your phone upside down and squint, pretty sure I can see a willy.
1. Sometimes I pretend I have to go to the bathroom so DH will watch the kiddo and I can milk it for 15 minutes of peace. I take our son to work so I'm a full-time mom and full-time worker.
2. I know a van is the most practical for 3 kids under 2 but I reallllllly don't want one and I'm trying to convince DH to get on board. He's not drinking my kool-aid.
My FFFC is bump analysis. Bump... no bump... all that matters is the health of the baby. I literally had a coworker say to me the other day "Are you still pregnant? You look so small still". I'm a late "popper", but when I do... oh boy! I need reverse alerts like a 16-wheeler. Then I get the opposite "Woah! You must be due soon". Like we as pregnant women need more pressure to fit some preconceived notion of what a pregnant woman should look like. "Oh you're carrying around.. must be a girl". "Oh your bump is so big and all in the front.. must be a boy". WHAT!?
We can really write what we want in here because the newbs don't open these threads. They don't know what FFFC means so instead they just keep starting "what's the gender" threads.
Totally agree! It drives me crazy that people feel that they suddenly have license to comment on your body/weight gain. FTM here, and that's been the most challenging thing I've experienced so far, and I'm only 17 weeks! It's only going to escalate. I wish I could just say, "You look a little chubby today, too!" Jerks!

Bahaha I totally did the other day. My buddy was like "you've been getting bigger" so I told him "I'm still not as big as you!". He rubbed his belly pridefully and told me he's having a food baby.

Lol. I stop filtering as often when I get upset as evidenced today when I've been kind of grouchy at people who annoyed the hell out of me here on the boards.

My belly hasn't really popped yet, but it has been protruding the tiniest bit more lately. I made a comment on Monday when we were hanging out with a
buddy of ours that I wished I would just get a real bump already instead
of just looking like I have a beer gut. He actually said "No, you look
pregnant" to make me feel better, but I had to do an eye roll at that comment because it was so obviously for my benefit.

My confession...my daughter is having a birthday party at the hell that is Chuck E cheese this weekend with her friends from school and I'm dreading it so much. I don't know what I was thinking when I agreed to that.
I hate when I regularly hear/see "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." I sometimes feel this is said to women more often and is a way of dismissing that they have a valid opinion or point to make.

I'm having crap luck finding one that can rear face 3!
