There's no set time. After 1 year it is up to you and LO to decide what works best for you. They need breastmilk (or formula) for AT LEAST one year.

WHO recommends at least until 2 years. Doesn't have to be exclusive but for nutritional and immunity benefits.

^ agree with PP. I nurse once in the morning and once at night. In between he gets formula & baby puréed food that I usually make myself. He gets about 26-28 ounces of liquids total & supplement with about 6 oz of food
