39w 6d and no sing of baby!! What to do??

My due date is tomorrow and yet no sign of labor anywhere, my first was born at 36w 2d and apparently baby no.2 feels a little too comfortable or maybe I'm just desperate??? What can I do to keep my mind off it?

Re: 39w 6d and no sing of baby!! What to do??

  • If you get any great suggestions, I'd love to hear them. lol  I am miserable! Both of my babies were early. I'm normally pretty patient in general but I'm 37.. this is our third child.. I'm working full time still.. dragging kids to baseball twice a week.. soccer once a week.. I feel like I may die!  My legs/hips/back are KILLING me.  My reflux is out of control. I am just beyond ready.  I see my OB today.. and I am crossing my fingers for progress.  I think I may have him take me off work at this point.  My legs are literally going numb.  I stand for any amount of time.. they're numb. I drive.. they go numb.  I sit in my work chair.. they go numb. it's ridiculous.  I had sciatic pain pretty bad with my DD but only on the left side and usually only at night. This is both legs.. radiating all the way down to my feet.. all day long. It's awful.

But there's really little you can do to 'bring on labor'.  There's a lot of things they say you can do but I really feel like if your body isn't ready.. it just isn't ready.

  • In the same boat but earlier. I had my daughter at 36 weeks and my son at 37 weeks. I am just past that point with this one. I am so ready to meet him and so sore. Thankfully, I am out of work now that school is not in session but now I am home with two toddlers and a house to clean and get ready.

I just want him to come soon.

  • You just wait.
  • You just wait... you aren't 40 weeks yet or even past that. It's ok your baby needs to 'cook'! :) The doctors will induce you if needed and if nothing happens. None of the old wives tales work

  • The waiting game is brutal if you let yourself focus on the negatives. Do yourself a favor and make plans to do something fun every day for the next week (things that can be easily cancelled). Go see Pitch Perfect 2 one day, make lunch plans with a friend the next, go get a mani/pedi the day after that - give yourself things to look forward to every day to help take your mind off the "dear god, please let me go into labor today!" thought process.
  • If you make it to 41 weeks 4-5 days drink some castor oil if you're shooting for a natural birth(:

    No. Just no.
  • Don't understand why yall are rushing your babies. He/she will come when ready...yall complaining you sore well some women can't even carry or carry as long as you so be thankful. I'm 40 weeks and 4 days and am not rushing anything , my babygirl will be here soon. 2nd baby.
  • Go home, have yourself a good, desperate cry, and eat a pint good of ice cream. Worked for me both times ;) In all seriousness, the only thing proven to bring on labor naturally is nipple stimulation, and the prostaglandins in semen do help to soften the cervix. Other than seeking medical intervention, it's just a waiting game! Good luck!!

  • Your baby will come when she is ready, don't worry. They might justbhave your due date incorrect. Remember they are just a guess.
