Changing C's diapers has been a struggle lately.... Girl will not lay still! Giving her my phone to play with kept her still for about a week but now she is over that. Any tips?
We are in the same boat. Diaper changes and clothing changes have been a struggle for a long time. I just try to find random new things to give her and hope it will keep her occupied for a few minutes.
If it comes down to it, I put a leg over her torso to keep her from rolling (we do diaper changes on the floor). I usually grab any object on the floor nearby for her to hold-bowl, cup, car, pretend food, and small plastic animals are her favorites.
Total struggle here too. I find I need to mix up the toys I give him. So I rotate the diaper change toys about every day. It sometimes works - new toys definitely keep his attention more than toys he's been playing with for two days with diaper changes. And I've been known to pin him under my armpit.
Total struggle here too. I have to come armed with as many things to keep her occupied as possible. I was always curious when is the time to stop using the changing table and I think now is the time. She is too squirmy and all over the place, just doesn't seem safe anymore. The only thing that works for a semi long time is singing the happy and you know it song because she thinks it's fun to clap to it and waits for me to praise her so that takes some time.
The changing table is the only place LO stays relatively still. Sort of. I usually give him something he's not typically allowed to play with, like a tube of cream or a hairbrush. Changing on the floor or bed usually results in a half-naked baby crawling away as quick as he can!
Ugh, diaper changes suck now, especially in public places like women's restrooms. She just wants to look around and when I have to hold her down she cries, and when I come out people give me the look of death.
Sometimes talking her through the diaper change seems to help. Keeping eye contact does too.
I do them on the floor. Sit with her on the ground between my legs, and bend my legs so that I can use my feet to pin her torso down. Kind of like the butterfly stretch from gym class, but with a squirming kid between your feet. This does require a fair amount of flexibility.

I've been using this and it works so great! Except yesterday DS bit my toe...Ha!

I've started doing this too! Great tip! I also started giving her things she shouldn't be playing with like teething tablet bottles and it keeps her much more distracted!
Glad it's working for you! MIL saw me do it once and was an even mix of impressed and appalled. Seemed to think nobody else in the world would do it that way. I'll let her know it's catching on!
