Anyone have Keekaroo Peanut Changer? Thoughts on straps

We just setup our baby's dresser with the Keekaroo Peanut Changer on top.  It fits nicely within the confines of the dresser changer top (which is an add-on to the dresser), and does not slide around.

The Keekaroo did come with some straps that we can stick to the bottom of our dresser, but I have heard installing it can damage the dresser top.  Are the straps really necessary for safety?  I feel as though I would not be leaving my baby unattended and that the table already seems secure.  Thoughts?

Re: Anyone have Keekaroo Peanut Changer? Thoughts on straps

  • I saw the keekaroo at a baby product expo a few months ago and asked them them the same question! The answer I got was that they're required by law to provide and recommend the straps, but unofficially he hinted that it was totally OK to use it without them (he just couldn't legally recommend it).

We're planning to get the same one and use it without the straps. The impression I got was that as long as you're not leaving the baby alone there's really nothing to worry about.
