Hello! My name is Carrie. I've been lurking on the board for a while. My DH and I will be 37 soon and have been trying for our first since January. I got pregnant in February, but that ended in a missed miscarriage. I had a D&E on 4/10 and I'm currently waiting to ovulate on my first TTC cycle post-MC. I'm on day 4 of flashing smileys on my Clearblue Advanced OPK. So the estrogen's on board, but the luteinizing hormone is taking a while to kick in. Hopefully it will get there. I'm looking forward to my first TWW after the miscarriage. I'm ready for some hopeful anticipation again.

Welcome. Sorry for your loss.
Cycles post MC can be off for a while so don't be worried if you do not O this month. Did your doctor track your hcg down to zero. Mine took over 6 weeks to come down after one of my MC's. Not sure how far along you were so that has a lot to do with how quick your hcg gets back to normal. I'm assuming you weren't far along since you got the ok to ttc a month post MC.

My doctor never checked my hcg. The baby measured 6 weeks when it should have been almost 8 weeks according to my ovulation date, and a week later the heart was no longer beating. I was 11 weeks when I had the d&e, but my nausea decreased significantly a couple days after my first ultrasound, so I think my hcg started dropping then. That was over 9 weeks ago. It's been 6.5 weeks since the d&e.

I started temping 2 days after the d&e, just to get an idea of when I might get my period, and FF said I ovulated about a week late. Hopefully I will ovulate this time. Fingers crossed.

I had pretty high temps yesterday and today -- not O temps. I'm not sure what to think. Temp has been rising steadily all week. If it weren't for the darn OPK I would be certain I was 5 or 6DPO, not O'ing any second. Ewcm and increase in sex drive happened 6 days ago. If I hadn't used an OPK, I'd be over the moon that I had perfect timing this month. Instead, I'm analyzing and re-analyzing the details and analyzing my analysis. ha

You don't have PCOS, do you?  Because that can make OPKs wonky.  Another thought - you could have ovulated 6 days ago and your OPK timing just didn't pick it up.  Oh, I don't miss that analyzing!!  I've moved on to other analyzing.    HAHA!  Good luck!

I don't have PCOS that I know of. My doctor said I did have a cyst when I went for my first ultrasound before the miscarriage, but he said it wasn't big and it was completely normal.

I'm definitely wondering if the opk missed the O 5 or 6 days ago, but would it show a peak now if that were true? I read that opks will read hcg the same as an lh surge, but I think it would be too early for that to explain it.

Where is a magic 8 ball when you need one?

I know you can have more than one surge in a month, but I'm not sure that you would get another surge after you ovulated.  Very odd.

Hi, sorry about the loss. My first pregnancy resulted in a mmc, so I know the feeling. On a brighter note good luck to you this cycle or any future cycles and oh yes welcome to the group. I sure hope your stay is short
