Nesting!!!!!!

I searched it and went through 15 pages before giving up! I swear I saw a thread on this the other day!
But anyways, I came home exhausted from the civil war cemetery visit with my kids. I suddenly got a burst of energy and can't stop cleaning! I even helped my kids organize their disaster of a room! My mom loaded my living room up with boxes of my dad's stuff when she moved. Well all of that has been cleaned out now! I'm about to work on my room and the bathrooms! I want change and organization NOW! Lol my husband is just sitting back and watching. I think he's afraid to touch anything. Haha

I wish I was too. I'm having this baby In 9 weeks and we haven't even painted the nursery! Trying not to freak out.
  • I think that's why I'm a little crazy right now. My FIL was going to give us his room that we let him move into and then take our room. He has the bonus room with his own entrance. We were going to trade that way we could have the nursery on one side. He still hasn't even attempted to get his stuff out. So no nursery yet! But I can still go crazy on the rest of the house. Lol

@mrsb30 Glad I'm not the only one!

I get these sudden bursts every once in a while and it's great because I get a ton done. I'm pretty exhausted thigh by the end of the night though. :)
  • I am putting my nesting energy into my daughter's big girl room so I can move her out of the nursery and get it ready for baby!

But my husband is not cooperating! I need him to hang the closet doors and help me hang blinds but he keeps putting it off! So frustrating. So I am trying to find busy work like mod podging the top of a bookshelf and seeing outfits for the girls.

Me too! I have been slowly deep cleaning every room in the house, I mean wiping walls from floor to ceiling, base boards, cabinets, organizing etc.  We moved into this house about 10 months ago and it has been something I have wanted to do since we moved it but all the sudden it needs to be done NOW!  Unfortunately I am struggling with some physical symptoms that are really limiting my abilities to completely go to town, hence I am slowly working my way through the house, but it is driving me bonkers!

  • @brinbri I know what you mean! I had to take several breaks bc it was taking a toll on my back and hips!
  • I am in the exact same boat. I can't seem to stop cleaning! We have pretty much finished the nursery so I've moved onto the rest of the house. I cleaned out "office" ( more of a catch all room) floor to ceiling, and deep cleaned the entire house including every window and window slider where dirt can get stuck. Still felt restless so I went through all our cloths and pulled out a bunch of stuff to donate. (Mind you we have dropped off stuff at goodwill 5 times already this year. Literally hundreds of items) now that that's is done I am running out of things to organize and clean. SUPER RESTLESS! Any ideas of what people wished they had done before their little one arrived? I'm game!!

  • I have 0 energy. No nesting has happened here
  • Nesting is no joke! I haven't had the urge to clean the rest of the house very often though. My main focus has been buying everything under the sun I think I could possibly use for the baby and then washing and organizing it
  • As much as I want and need to, nesting is just not happening right now. my get up and go has completely got up and gone. Send me some of your energy please!
  • I'm the same - cleaning like crazy! pulled the stove out last weekend to clean behind it just because! lol :)
  • @breezymeema7 I've wanted to sew my own bibs!!! What kind of materials did you use?
  • @sjra1028 I used PUL fabric. It's lightweight, waterproof, and wipes down super easy. It also comes in adorable prints. Check out this link, it has a great pattern and instructions.

  • We painted the nursery today! And starting setting up all the furniture. I wish I would get the nesting urge to deep clean though!
  • I get sleepy just thinking about the to-do list... :-/
  • I went to the bathroom and instead of peeing I ended up on the floor with clorox wipes. Lol
  • Oh I am completely getting this! We went from wanting to get our house (interior) painted to getting all new interior doors/trim, new flooring, AND painting. Still in the middle of it all and it's nuts, but I'm so glad these things will be done in time for little Sally to arrive. It's insane how much energy I have to put into it, but I'm being good and not getting my hands dirty as much as I'd like.
  • Yes! I have been making my poor husband crazy with my constant need to DO something. But once I get going, I get so tired so quickly... it's very frustrating. :(  I still have boxes and piles of stuff to go through, clean and organize that people gave me for my baby. Doesn't help that I have bad PGP and work full time 40 minutes from home. I can't really lift more than 5 pounds without my lower areas hurting like mad- my pelvic girdle pain radiates sharply from my crotch down into my left leg where I had an old injury. I'm assuming it's because of the injury that it's so bad. Sorry for the rant... this is the first time I've really been on the forums here and it's very reassuring that others have the same/similar problems as me! <3

We're in the final stages of our living room remodel and the new carpet gets in on Saturday. I'm so ready for it to be done so I can get my house put back together.
  • I already have OCD when it comes to cleaning. I have known I was having a girl since week 12 (free cell DNA blood work) so her nursery was started forever ago it seems. Now I'm driving my husband nuts (more so than usual) with my,what he calls "unnecessary" cleaning lol. I mop, sweep, dust,do both bathrooms & base boards at least 3 times a week. Even if he's watching TV I start cleaning it if I'm in my nesting mode. My blinds have been cleaned. Even the long ones to my slufibg glass doors & there's 3 sliders. I am only getting worse.

Bad thing is, I was just put on bed & pelvic rest due to crazy contractions!!!! So now I'm going insane. My husband threatens to call my OB everytime I sneak clean lol.
