Pregnancy Brain...

Feeling so fed up with being pregnant. This pregnancy brain thing is all to real to me. I keep making the most trivial mistakes at work no matter how many times I recheck my work, loosing the company money for miscalculated prices. My face gets intensely red out of pure embarrassment and then I have to fight back tears because I feel incapable to completing any task without mistake. It's seriously making me want to quit my job, crawl in my bed and never come out. Anyone else having a hard time with this?

  • I've had quite a few opps moments as well! I'm beginning to learn it comes with the territory
  • I think my R word is being used correctly... But just in case I've attached the definition for you.
  • And why is it offensive? I'm saying my actions and reactions have slowed since I got pregnant; I don't see anything offensive in that. Changing the language doesn't change the condition.

Pregnancy brain truly truly is such a crazy experience! I have said some truly ridiculous things and I constantly feel as there are blanks in sentences with the word I'm forgetting. Luckily I found that pretty much everyone smiles and shirks it off. I'm sure your work understands and you'll be back on your A game soon!
  • @lonibrown if it makes you feel any better, I hit a parked car & drove the wrong way on a one way street. So you're not alone.

I have to check myself before I walk out the door. Always afraid I will forget pants.
I forgot to wear a bra once (and I'm not small chested so it would have been a disaster).
I noticed while in the car so I was able to avoid extreme embarrassment. Haha

  • Some of these are pretty awesome. I too have a serious case of baby brain
  • I have to tell people to remind me of everything or set alarms for everything cos I just forget every little detail I honestly didn't realise this happens so soon I thought it was a 3rd trimester thing!!
  • I can't write. I went from churning out 1,0001 words a day to staring blankly at a computer and trying not to cry!

You attached the definition of "retard" as a verb, but you used it as a noun. Therefore, you did not use it correctly and it IS incredibly offensive.
My baby brain kept me from noticing that. Good catch.

I've had this issue too! Or I hate anything I do write because it just doesn't flow the way I want.

I've had a few baby brain moments, using the wrong words for example, I picked up a roll of sellotape and said 'I've got the celebrate' Trying to lock my car door with my house keys and wondering why the darn thing won't lock. Little things that I can't complain about as I find them pretty amusing. My head is just elsewhere at the moment..!

I give my students detentions for using that word. It's ignorant, offensive, and disgusting.

    Bravo =D> =D>

It is disgusting. I can't believe anyone would even try and defend themselves....
  • Well I turned on the hot water in the sink to do the dishes... my 3 yr old called out for me so needless to say I got distracted forgot completely about the sink and then started folding laundry... After about 45 mins I remembered and ran into my flooded kitchen I have used all the hot water so after cleaning up my mess the dishes are going to have to wait until the cylinder heats up again. Simple tasks are proving hard.
  • My SO's best friend was just making fun of me because I use my hands to speak. Which I normally do... But, now I use it to remember how to say words.... It looks like sign language, but I know any ASL user would look at me like I was crazy!!
Ex: I was trying to say hamburger, so I had to use my hands to make the shape to remind my mouth what my brain wanted to say, but in ASL I was doing the sign for ball...... Oi!!!!
  • Last night for like 10 seconds I forgot how to tie my shoes. I was tying them and it came out all wrong! Took a breather and figured it out but it was so embarrassing!

I wrote my name wrong on a form at the doctors. The same name I've had for 27 years...
  • So many mess ups at work... Customers are accepting the "pregnancy brain" excuse thankfully
