hi everyone,
I'm due with twin boys (spontaneously) the doctor I was seeing the doctor from the TLC show Baby Story, Dr. Hux. Anyway at 34 weeks I had to go to the hospital for kidney stones. When I arrived the residents informed me that Dr. Hux not only didn't have privelages at their hospital, where he and I discussed at length that I would be delivering but that he had no privelages anywhere and never would again ! What he does is send in a different doctor at the last minute who you've never met for delivery/c-section.
Since I was really upset about him basically lying to me I switched physicians to the doctor he was planning on sending in for my scheduled c-section.
I was originally told that I was having di/di twins and I had two placentas. Now this new doctor is telling me I have mono/di twins and one placenta with low fluid around baby b, that he's monitoring. The new doctor doesn't have the same high risk 3D ultrasound as Dr. Hux and has changed my delivery date off of his 2D scans. I'm really nervous that I was told totally different information for 8 months !! Every time I try to explain this the new doctor blows me off and says his ultrasound tech is very good and knows what she's doing. My c section is scheduled in five days

I would be looking for a third opinion at this time. It's never to late to switch doctors again. Although finding one this late in the game may be a challenge. But to me I would want another doctor to weigh in and agree with either one of your previous docs. That's just me. Hope everything turns out well for you and babies!

Uuuuum you went with a TV DOCTOR! can you doooo that....I guess you can....aand he has no admitting privileges? And I'm sure there are lots of moms that are hi risk that never got a 3d ultrasound and received adequate care.... I don't see the issue.....and at this point how much does it matter because with five days to go some rando is going to be cutting you open anyway it's not like you are going to be able to establish any type of relationship. In the military they call this a FUBAR....is this real or a MUD?

Yeah, sorry but I would have never in life gone with using a Dr who is on a TV show. I would never be able to get past thinking he is a TV personality first and a Dr second. Maybe he's awesome, I don't know - that's just the way I roll. No TV anybody for me. Also, the fact he doesn't have admitting privledges *anywhere* seems awful shady. Sorry you're going thru this, but at this point it seems you only two options. 1) continue to trust your TV personality and go with his choice of some random person cutting you open, or 2) trust the new guy who has so far (as far as you know) NOT been dishonest with you. I mean, it sounds like he has more practical working knowledge than this TV guy does, anyway. TV guy don't do sh*t (as evidenced by the fact he has no practicing priveldges anywhere).
I guess your third option would be to go running with your medical records to a Dr not affiliated with either TV guy or his random. Which, its late in the game, but could be done.

go with what @mellymar said! she is much nicer...and basically spot on with what im thinking! I went all debbie downs on @nicnnatesmom probably wasn't to helpfull....im going to have a snack now...

I don't have any sympathy for you. You have to be your best advocate and check on your own providers. Not even sure I believe you anyway.

Were you planning on being on the show? Why did you choose this doctor?
