my sweet 5 month old baby has been a bad napper since day 1. She only takes 40 minute naps and is up for an hour and a half in between naps. She will take 3 naps per day and then refuses to take another nap regardless of how tired she is so I end up putting her to bed at 5-5:30pm because she's simply exhausted. She's started sleeping through the night but wakes up at 5-5:30am.
That means the earlier she's awake, the longer she has to wait after 3rd nap before bed. I'm at a loss! What do I do? I'm happy she sleeps through the night but she keeps getting up so early and that makes her miserable at the end of the day due to her short naps. Oh and pushing her nap time and bedtime doesn't work at all, it just makes her overtired.
Please help! My baby is so exhausted during the day!!!
Re: SLEEP ADVICE-HELP!!!
Mine is bed at 9pm, awake 3 times at night, and then he is wide awake at 5:30am. Naps are scattered and short. Sleep regression stinks.
Maybe your pediatrician can give you ideas or refer you to an sleep therapist.
It'll get better in a few months regardless.
Edit: 3:40am and he is wide awake happily chatting away.
LO goes down between 5-7 wakes between 10-1 for a feed then again around 2-3 to 'play' then is up for the day between 4-6. I've tried everything I can to get a later bed time so I can get a better wake time but it seems his internal clock says otherwise right now *sigh* and on good days we get maybe 10 hrs at night and maybe 3 hours total for naps
